OMG I missed all these replies because I was pretty much offline for a few months due to illness. I’ve never heard of Brambleberry but will look it up now! Wait before I even look: do they ship in glass or plastic bottles? Since I’ve week sick.... actually 6 months were really bad, I sort of fell off the earth. I’m finally (knock wood) on my way back. I’m counting fever-free days (Lupus) and I need to stop fixating on it So....time to shop, spend, love, hate LOL, and I will put together over time reviews on all the oils I ordered last March—right before I got sick. I have about 20 I have yet to try. But this thread on Smoky Scents: is there a way I can “archive” it?

Basically I found this wonderful site/group/harem and at the same time (as you know, Belinda) I discovered the realization that I do better buying FO’s for my personal use (vs the gazillion clams of wax melts I blow through monthly and they’ve taken over my house!!

Scented Wax Melts are my true “baby.” Retail brands that I buy, test, hoard or, as I say each time a scent is a FAIL: “Hefty, Hefty, Cinch-Sak!!!” Yeah: I have no room to store scents I overbought and either dislike, can’t tolerate (headache-triggers), or, my final push to try FOs: This Lupus flareup seemed to affect my sense of smell as far as scents I felt threw 5/5 like beasts that took over my house....I can now barely smell. It was a conversation with one of my Retail Contacts that brought adding existing FOs to the existing wax melts. Keep in mind: the oils snd melts are sold by the manufacturer so they are dupe-ditty-dupes!! Best idea ever but they get $7.00 for .3 oz.!!!!  Point three; yes!!!!

Oh I logged on (finally) last week and saw JS is now an WSP acquisition. I pray they don’t switch to glass bottles. What I went thru to replace the glass WSP bottles with perfect blue plastic bottles with black turret caps...heaven!!! Then I redesigned the size/style/scent labels (nothing that’s not 100% in keeping their integrity) but I had to design for 16, 8, and 4 oz bottles. That’s about all I did in the past 6 months. Now: to transfer all the oils. I did about 10 of the 16oz and there was NO seepage. I didn’t think that would happen but it was, um, mentioned.

Please let me know if I can archiving this thread easily, or if I’ll have to manually make a PDF page by page and merge.

Thanks all!’ Hugs Belinda; we never got to chat! One day at a time.... no fever..... until I forget to count! 🥰❤️🥰

I'm so glad you're feeling better! I hope you have many more good days ahead, getting better every day.

I think these threads can be archived but I have no idea how to do it. Maybe copy and paste the conversation into a word document?

I need to send you some of my wax to test for me since you are the wax melt queen LOL!

  2. I don't have many of their scents but I like their Pumpkin Pie and Sissie's sugar cookie. It's a lighter sugar cookie that some suppliers use as snicker doodle but it smells good. I also love their All Hallow's Eve. I see that they're getting Blueberry Sugar and I'm dying to try that one but hate that I don't order from them more. Shipping is too high for me.

Planning my first Keystone order and this is in my cart. All are “peaks” fragrances I’ve read about on different threads here (except cranberry chutney). Anything stand out as a boo-boo or am I missing a FO that should-NOT-be-missed?

    birthday cake

    cinnamon and balsam

salty sea air (hope it’s not cologne like)

    winter wonderland

    tall grass

    cranberry chutney (the hunt continues)

Their birthday cake is great! I have cinnamon and balsam too which I like OOB but haven't put in wax yet. I haven't smelled any of the others you have listed. I like Old Town Bakeshop too. It's lite but a good bakery scent. Bird of Paradise is good, cherries in the snow, chocolate grahams, country berry hotcakes, cranberry apple marmalade, creamy pecan praline, iced lemon danish ( I also like iced lemon cookies from Aztec and lemon biscotti from Fillmore) sea salt and cocoa bean. I've read where they have a good cream brûlée but I've never used it. I like the one from Cajun.

Palo Santo (the actual wood) is used for smudging. The resin and oil have been used in medicinal purposes for hundreds of years. Some prefer it over Sage for smudging (me included) as Sage smudging can be overpowering and staaaanks! LOL

While BBW and others made it "candle famous"...it's definitely not a new thing in certain areas. Cierra's Palo Santo is identical to BBW's version. I didn't have much luck with it in my applications. TFC's version has added Patchouli. Candlewic's version is nice and it's my fav in a candle. None of them are true Palo Santo though.

Does the one from CW smell like the Bath and Body Works version too? Was the one from Cierra too lite to work? Just thinking about ordering some and wanted to make sure I got the best LOL!

Hello I have a question. I am looking for a old fashion plain fresh cucumber scent. I’m noticing the ones I have bought either are extremely weak or they have a dirty sand smell. Not sure if anyone else has experience this. Any good recommendations for a great cucumber oil to make my candles . Thank you

I don't know what a planning cucumber scent would smell like but I poured Cucumber Melon from Studio and it smells really good. I noticed Lone Star and Nature's Garden's both have a plain cucumber with good reviews so you might want to give them a try. They both have some good oils.

    Hello friends!

They just released 5 new oils. Oatmeal Milk & Honey, Wild Honeysuckle & Raspberry, Tangerine Passion, Watermelon Lemonade Type and Tobacco & Bay Leaf. I poured a candle and a melt in each scent. To soon to test the candles but have melted 4 out of the 5 so far and all are super!

    Those all sound so good!

I honestly think the one from Aztec is a little stronger but LS does have a good one!

Aztec is truly the best IMO and I’ve used them all

Aztec's does smell good in wax but I've learned the past few months that it doesn't soak up well in aroma beads and has very little scent in them. I'm not sure why that is though. I switched to Flaming's for my beads and theirs soaked up really fast and had a strong smell. I may have just got a bad bottle from Aztec, not sure.

I'm pretty Happy with Midwest fragrance company to! Shipping is extremely fair. 149.00 free shipping aswell. Shipping was quick. Ordered 10 samples. Usually I end up with 2 or 3 I like. I happened to like all of these samples. Wasn't one I pushed to the side. Tested two so far the cocoa butter cashmere and cedar musk lavender. Both amazing. I put in a reorder for 16s immediately. Love the owners. You actually feel like a valued customer. The group is very warm and encouraging and lifting aswell as informative and judgement free. From the Veterans to the newbies. Good vibe all the way around.

You're right! They are such sweet people and make you feel very important to them. One of our members on here is her mom and she's the same way. Sweetness just runs in their family!

  10. I haven't used any of the waxes listed but if they're container waxes I would think you'd need a pillar or votive wax to blend with them. I use 4625/6006 or 4625/4630 for my clams and a pillar wax for shapes.

Are these all really soft? I doubt they'd come out of a clamshell without using a little bit of a harder wax if they are. If it's just for your personal use then maybe pour in a jar without a wick and scoop it out to put in your warmer. I've also seen people pour some into small tin foil cups like cupcake cups. That way you could use it for yourself and wouldn't waste anything or wouldn't have to buy anything extra.

Did you get a chance to get them in wax?

Not yet but I plan to soon.  I only have a little tiny space cleared off to work right now LOL! I'm SOOOOO disorganized! Maybe one day I'll learn how to organize myself but I doubt it this late in life!

  12. @The Candle Nook, I got

Apple blossom and almond-love this one!

    Black Raspberry & Vanilla

    Cactus and Sea salt

    Cherry Amaretto

    Fresh Lemon-so good!

    Lemon Sugar Cake

    Sweet Strawberry

And I got a couple more but can't remember off the top of my head. Why I keep buying FO's is beyond me! I've been finding boxes of them that I ordered for Christmas stuff that I never used and they're literally falling off the shelves LOL! Hopefully I'll get some of these in wax before too long. I've just got to get more organized!

Thanks so much once again Belinda ! Did you get an excellent hot scent throw?

The scent throw is as good as any wax I've used. Either of these waxes, even used alone is good to work with for throw. The biggest factor in my opinion is the oil itself. Any wax will throw well if the oil is a good one. Hope this helps!

SAME @Belinda my order came today as well. I am excited to get my samples in wax to start curing. Have to wait until Friday tho...

Which masculine scents did you get and what are your favorites from them and other places? I have a lot of customers, mostly female, that love masculine scents.

200 but throw lasts 4 hours

You're mixing at 200 degrees and still have oils weeping? That seems really hot to me. I mix at 180-185 and if it's a really heavy oil like some vanillas that won't mix well I usually stick my glass mixing cup in the microwave and warm it up a little higher so it will blend but that's kind of rare. Most all of mine mix right in at 185.

If your throw is only lasting for 4 hours I wouldn't think that is long enough. Maybe you're burning scent off by mixing at too high a temp? I've heard that's possible.

Which oils are weeping and where are you getting them?

  16. I mix 50/50 for clams. I think when I mixed this for molds I used 60/40 with the 60 being 4625 only because I don't like smudges but at this ratio it really didn't smudge much at all.
