What are your favorite christmas scents?  Now that I am lerning to make 8 oz tin candles i want to send something  to my family members in Ohio for Christmas, that is if I am able to make a good candle by then.

My favorite Christmas scents are Mrs. Claus Cookies from NG, Dicken's Christmas from LS, Bayberry from NG, Autumn Leaves from CW (it smells like it can pass for a Fall and Christmas one to me), Peppermint Bark from CS, Christmas Tree Fillmore, Christmas Cabin NG, Gingerbread NG or Aztec, any of the pumpkin pie scents except the ones from JS. For some reason I never had good luck with her pumpkin scents. There are a few more but those are some of my favorites.

    Thanks for all these recommendations!

Are there any fall scents from flaming candle that any of you recommend? I did get pumpkin pie but have not poured it yet. Palo santo is good from flaming as well, just a really nice masculine scent good for all year round.

just poured Aztecs leaves for the first time. This one seems good and strong.🌸

    I love -

Alpine Cheer, Apple Cinnamon, Bayberry & Silver Oak, Harvest Gathering, North Pole, Nutmeg & Spice, Pumpkin Apple Butter (smells the same as NG's) Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Sugared Pralines, Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow (smells the same as Aztec's and FB's to my nose) Apple Ginger Crust, Autumn & Apple Orchard, Cranberry Apple Marmalade. These are some that I use. They have some good oils.

Wow, @Belinda, that is quite the exhaustive list!  Color me impressed!  :D

I have an obsessive streak! I get fixated on a certain things like FO, blue jeans, brown eye shadow, colonial decor and I have to find the "perfect" of every one of the things that I'm honed in on  and have to try them all LOL! My friends tease me about it all the time. I guess it's called OCD 🤣 I only wish it would help me get my house organized LOL!

I am in love with Millcreek’s Fireside Musk.

    Fireside Musk 203
Curl up by the fire with this blend of warm sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla and light musk that form the base for mid notes of violet and, jasmine and mingle with light citrus top notes.

Also, Oak Barrel Cider from RE is a great Fall scent.   Very warm and cozy.

I don't order from Millcreek, although I have ordered a few samples in the past, but maybe I need to check that one out. It sounds interesting for sure.

A good seller for me is a 50/50 blend of CS oakmoss & amber and CS mac apple.

Aztec fall leaves is another one.  I just got FB blackberry sage, haven't tried it yet, but smells like a good fall one.

I won't even mention (pumpkin spice) but yeah, it is a best seller.  :)

coffee  latte scents are also good ones

Whose pumpkin spice do you like? I'm loving pumpkin pie from BCN and also the one from CS which is a milder, sweeter one to my nose.

I’d be dancing in the streets if I got more than one day 4-6 or even 8 hours!! I’ve never gotten throw on day two that warranted saving the melted cube pincer I pop it out. And I’ve tried so many different vendors (plus retail including the $$$ retail! Oh actually there is one brand I might get 2-4 hours on day two and they’re the Bridgewater Candles wax melts... and only two scents out of all of theirs.

I did a double take when I read your post!

Maybe you could be a tester for some of us wax melt makers!

Have you all tried their musk-heavy scents?  Musk, Pink Musk, Vanilla Musk, Black Vanilla Musk, Masculine Musk, etc.  If you search for "musk" on their site, those come up at the top of the list and then it starts including FOs that have musk in the other notes (not the name).  I may get that lilac @Shari mentioned too, as I missed that in the past.  Also am interested in Bella's Kiss, Witches' Brew, Heavenly, and Sea Glass.

Anybody want to add any to the above raves and recs?

I've only tried Bella's Kiss from your list and even though I don't usually like those type scents I did like that one. I haven't put it in anything though, just sniffed it OOB. I'm a bakery and fruity person so that's what I tend to buy even though most around here want masculine scents like leather and black ice.

I will give that a try..I have a lot of 464 so I might as well try to make tart wax because I don't think I'm  going to make candles with it anymore. I looked at the candles I made from 3 months ago and longer and I was very disappointed. They were dry looking, frosted and some had brown spots and these were the candles that came out just about perfect. My lovely soy has let me down I just have to admit it lol.. Thanks💐

You could order some 4625 and mix with it. Or maybe even get some tart wax from Flaming or Rustic. They have all paraffin and a para/soy blend that's granular.

    Hello,

I was just wondering...I know mainly Bakery / Spice / Pine Type scents are some of the main scents for candles in the fall / winter months...but I am searching for unisex masculine scents that is a year round scent, as well as a few Fall / Winter scents that are found to sell all year. Also is there a minty, floral, or baby type that sells year round also? I am trying to not go on an FO Rampage.... I would just like clear my head and to just order a few to test for my Candle line up. So please, if you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate your help! TIA.

What NightLight said and also you can get 5 one ounce samples from Aztec for $5 every month. That might help you try some FO's without breaking the bank.

I know my favorites are bakery but most of the people in my area like leather or the masculine scents, which I don't care for but have to keep for them.

I have found that some of the scents that sell all year long are apple pie and Mrs. Claus Cookies from NG. Some summer time bakery scents that sell are blueberry cobbler and strawberry white cake. I'm in Texas so people think they have to have leather which isn't what I want my house to smell like LOL!

    Hi..

If you put sugared sprinkles in wax melts

does the melted sugar mess with the scent of the fo? And does the wax after get gooey and weird? Thanks

I don't think it messes with it at all. I use them when I make cookie shapes of wax and when the was hardens back up they just harden into the wax again.

  12. Oh my! This is a ton of sample bottles and it would take me days to look up flashpoints. I would guess most meet the requirements though. We'll see. I'll do a search on the suppliers websites and see how many of their oils are below that.

    Thank you!

  13. I need to ship some FO's to someone. If you ship FO's to someone do you use USPS flat rate or do they  make you do ground shipping? I've noticed that FB ships USPS flat rate with their oils. Is that what  y'all do?

Thanks! Just don't want to take a package to the post office and have them turn me down.

Does all tart wax cool quickly?  Is there a certain one that doesn't? .. As I pour its sludging up against the side of the pot..

It will all sludge when it gets cooler. I've not had a wax yet that didn't. I heat to 18-185, add FO and color and stir for 2 minutes and if it gets too cool it'll start doing that where it's hanging up on the sides and bottom and rim of the pot.

I have used this wax for my melts for two   2 years.  i heat to 180   add fo at 160 and then pour.  Great hot and cold throw and never had dimples they come out perfect

When you add FO at 160 does it blend in with the wax all the way? I've always added at 180 and then stir for two minutes and pour. Maybe pouring cooler makes it smoother? I guess I need to experiment. When I add some FO cooler it doesn't seem to mix in well especially a vanilla or heavy oil. Do you ever have that happen?
