  1. Let me add that there are many very good suppliers. All have duds and all have great oils. It'll depend on what your area likes. I do sell a lot of leather and masculine scents in aroma beads. I've found great oils for these from several companies. I also sell some summer and fruity scents. I get those from various suppliers like Aztec, Lone Star, Rust Escentuals,  Just Scent, Candle Science, Pure Fragrance Oils, Texas Candle Supply, Daystar, Natures Gardens and there are others.

I'm grew up in Beckville, TX, but me and my husband moved to Nacogdoches about 4 years ago. We love it here! I think we are actually considered "Deep East Texas"

I'm just getting started so any kind of fragrance. I love all things leather! I'm not a fan of lavender, can't stand the smell of it.

I know where Nacogdoches is. You're not too far up the highway from me!

The best leather I've found is from Texas Candle Supply and also Lone Star. TCS is in Livingston but he doesn't have a store front. LS is close to Dallas. Both have fast shipping and great oils. LS also sells aroma beads so that would help you out there.

I am VERY new to making aroma bead charms. I'm looking for the best place to buy my oils? Also which scents are your biggest seller?

I bought the scent leather from B&J. It doesn't smell too strong, but I also just read where you're supposed to let leather soak a littler longer.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Hi Britney! I make aroma beads. Yes, leather does have to soak longer and so does vanilla. Leather and manly scents are my biggest sellers here in Texas. I also made some fruity scents with Monkey Farts and Fruit loops and they have sold pretty good so far.

    Hey ya'll,

I'm Britney from East Texas! I am new to the crafting world. I came upon this site looking for tips on aroma beads. So any tips would be greatly appreciated. The main thing i'm looking for right now is the best place to buy fragrance oils? I've went through SO many forums on here, buy haven't found one that gives just that.

I look forward to learning a lot here!

Hey Britney! I'm in East Texas too! Where exactly are you from in East Texas? I guess I'm more southeast Texas, between Cleveland and Coldspring off of 59 North.

I make aroma bead ornaments. I buy fragrances to use for them from several different suppliers. What type of fragrances are you looking for?

Thanks, Karen!  I just emailed her again... I used: info@daystarsupplies.com

This is what I've used in the past and have gotten an answer, so I hope it works!

I'm friends with Stacy on Facebook and only live about 10 miles from Daystar. I usually message her on there and get a quick response. I have mentioned to her on a couple of occasions that some are having a hard time getting ahold of her so if you don't get a response just let me know and I'll send her a message.

  6. I’ve used them then quit, then used them again to have something easy to give samples out in. They take up a lot of room in my wax room and I’m already very disorganized in there Lol!

I do like them for samples and to make samplers with and would probably use them more if I had room. I am trying to think of an alternative to clams though. To me, the scents smell stronger when in a bag instead of a clam for some reason.

  7. I use Fragrance Buddy's cinnamon broom and also JS cinnamon crunch cake they're both really good in my opinion. I've had a hard time finding a good, strong straight cinnamon though. As far as coconut, well, those I've tried are pretty light. Maybe someone else will chime in about that one.

  8. Welcome to the board! I work with a woman from the Philippines. She's been here about 25 years.

Your english seems as if it's great by reading your post. I would love to live in Pennsylvania with all the early american history there! I live in Texas where we have two seasons, hot and hotter! LOL! Sometimes it gets cold here but not often.

I hope you eventually feel at home here in the U.S. I'm sure it's not an easy thing to leave your home and move to another country.

We're here to help you with your new addiction though and I think you'll make a lot of friends here on this board.

I say we all meet once a year, maybe somewhere warm, hey I’m in Wisconsin no palm trees here, and bring all our f.o.s and have a swap!😀

That sounds like a great idea! I live in a warm climate and not that far from Galveston which does have palm trees!

  10. Everything looks great to me! I love the paint cans and your label and I'm  usually a primitive/colonial/rustic candle kind of person. It's all very well done and clean looking. I also like the about me section. By the way, is your daughter already studying to be an astrophysicist? ( I don't even know what that is!)  I thought she was a teenager or preteen in the picture.

Anyway, everything looks very nice and well organized! Great job! I hope you get many, many sells from your etsy store.

I fit this category very much.  Sometimes I wonder if I get more excitement from reading the description and receiving oils to smell vs putting them in products LOL.  My dear friend @Belinda is also guilty 😂🤷‍♀️.

    Guilty as charged! 🤪

OMG I didn't know about Trap !!! My heart just hit the floor.

I know. It's so hard to know she's gone. Her sister called me again and left a message and she's not able to talk about it very well yet so I'm going to give her a little more time and then try to contact her again. We've been missing each other. I had hoped so much to meet Trapp this summer because her sister lives in Austin which is only about a 3-4 hour drive from me and I had hoped she would come to Texas and visit her sister. It's just heartbreaking. She'll be so missed on here.

    Bringing back an old thread!

@Belinda what’s your review on the fragrances you tested?

Or anyone else that gave them another shot?

The only one I got around to putting in wax was a Fall scent called Thanksgiving day I think. It was pretty good as far as strength etc. I have used their version of Axe in aroma beads and it smells good but it doesn't smell as much like the Axe scent it's supposed to be. I think I have a problem with buying samples and never getting around to putting them in wax! LOL!

I just wanted to put it out there-I just ordered Vanilla Bean Noel from WSP, only because Trappeur recommended it.  I didn't need it, but I just felt like I had to buy a small bottle just because she "told" me to on this forum.

We sure will miss our friend so much. It's just hard to believe she's gone. Her sister called me the other day and left a message and I tried to call her back but we've been playing phone tag. She's still so torn up about it all and I can't blame her. My heart breaks every time I think about her.

Every time you use that FO you'll think of our friend Trappeur!

  15. I get spikes and cook them the same as you. It seems like the spikes aren’t as bad as they were years ago when I first started though. I don’t trim them. It’s never bothered me.

Thank you. I figured that one out the hard way. I have 10lbs that I do not like....

I hear ya! I threw a ten pound bag in the trash of aroma beads online and I don't buy beads from Cajun anymore, just their FO's and wax.

Thanks! I did order and really like their scents.

Anyone know what the tart blend is? I mean is it soy or paraffin? I'd like to give it a try. Tart Blend

It's all paraffin. It's one of my favorite waxes to use but the shipping is so high from them to me that it's not cost effective for me to use it.

Have you ever used their aroma beads? I'm haveing a horrible time with them.

I don't care for their aroma beads. They don't soak up the oil as well as other beads and they have to be cooked longer. I get my beads from Plastic Pellets 4 Fun now. NG and BCN have good beads also. Don't buy from Aroma Beads online or Buy It Ship It. They have horrible beads.
