  1. Butternut Pumpkin is good.

I also like their Apple Cinnamon, Sugared Cronut, Cinnamon Sugared Donut, Leather, Butt Naked, I hear their blueberry cobbler is great and plan to order this week, Candied Yams, Caramel Apple, Caribbean Escape, Dicken's Christmas, Hansel and Gretel's house, and a few more that I can't think of. They have some good oils. I didn't used to like much they had but the more I used the more I liked.

I bought leather from AAA and love it (a true leather scent. Very potent) but I liked the leather and lace - just don’t want 2 leather scents. Let me know when you make it up and how the HT is!

I got a sample of their leather too and liked it as well! I like their leather and lace too but I order one called that from Texas Candle Supply. I can sell anything with leather in it! You know how Texans are about their leather LOL!

4625 alone poured into clam shells between 150-160

50/50 mix of 4625 and 4794 poured into clam shells around 160

I don't pour these waxes any cooler than that in plastic molds because they start gelling quickly and the corners end up not completely filling in or look puffy and rounded.

Isn't it funny how we can do pretty much the same thing and not get the same results! I poured about the same temp and couldn't get them out for nothing!

I love The Candle Source wax for clamshells but I hate only being able to get it at only a couple of places and it's very high at Swans and the shipping to me is outrageous! It's more cost effective from TCS but that leaves one place to get it.

I'll have to come up with something even if it's using a little 6006 to smooth out the tops of 4794. I actually love that combo but there again 6006 has a little bit of soy and needs to cure a little longer. Oh well. I guess I can't have everything LOL!

I can't help but I'm curious, is the paraffin just too sticky?

I think I could be pouring too hot but I have noticed over the years that mixing a pillar or votive with 6006 instead of 4630 I have better results with it popping out. I've even used 6006 alone in a clam and it came out pretty easy. I think it has a higher melt point than even 4794. I just wanted to stick with all paraffin to shorten cure time.

  5. @Laura C, I've used 4625 alone for shapes but have never been able to get it to come out of a clam if poured alone, only when I've mixed it with 4630 or 6006. I do mix 4794 with KY wax or 6006 and it comes out really nice but I just don't want to have to wait on curing time.

What temp do you pour 4625 into the clamshell? I've even tried it mixed with 4794 at the suggestion of Puma who used to come on here a lot (haven't seen her on here in a while though and miss her!) but it wouldn't pop out of the clam.

I love 4625 alone or mixed with 4794 or 4786 for shapes though. I even like to blend KY 133 or 143 with one of those.  I used to mix 4625 and 4630 together for clams and some would come right out and some wouldn't. It seems like mixing with 6006 is an easier mix to pop out but there again you have soy which I'd rather not have but I may have to use at least a little bit in clams.

    Thank you for your help!

  6. I'm sure this has been discussed on here before but what wax have you used that will pop right out of clams?  I've used several mixes and some will come out very easy while others won't. I would like to stick to all paraffin. I've had good luck with KY para/soy tart wax but would prefer not to have to wait on cure time with the soy in it. The Candle Source wax was wonderful for clams. All paraffin and pops right out but I don't want to have to pay their high shipping to me and I think the only places to get their wax is from them or Swan's candle supply, unless someone knows of at least one more place.

I tired mixing 133 with 4630 to smooth out the tops and they're pretty much stuck in the clam now.  I'm going to have to put my clams in the freezer for a few minutes.

I've used 4625/4630 before and while it comes out of cups like a dream it's kind of hard to get out of clams at times. Who knows, I might've been pouring too  hot but I try to check my temp and make sure it's around 160 before I pour.

I really prefer doing shapes but people around here want clamshells.

    Thanks in advance!

  7. Almost every oil I've ever gotten from BCN had some kind of nutty smell to it. I don't know how else to describe it. I do like Sissie's sugar cookie and maybe a few more but that's it. I just can't get past the nutty smell that I get from their oils.

Hey Belinda. I’m in the DFW area. (Denton to be exact) I’m blown away by everything I’m reading from the “pros”....Learning so much!

You're not too far from me, maybe 4 hours. You should be really close to Lone Star though!  I have a cousin that lives in Dallas and her daughter just won Miss Teen USA. That was pretty exciting.

Never heard of Cajun Candles — but after this thread...I’m probably ordering from ANOTHER supplier 😂🙄 (🔫 me now). What are other favs from them...

I just got a few in from them. I ordered some pina colada and it smells really good OOB. I was looking for something to replace Tennessee's and this one from Cajun smells great. I also got some more cream brûlée and banana nut bread. I think I like BNB from CS better but I'll have to do a side by side sniff and see but either way they're both good. I got a sample of orange cream cupcake which smells so good and hurricane daiquiri which also smells great OOB.

    Hope this helps!

@Trappeur, thank you for the vote of confidence! I always look at your suggestions and haven't been disappointed in anything I've tried that you suggested.

how long do you let pillar of bliss cure for?? ive never used it, i have been using Ecosoya Pillar Blend with Fruit Loops FO from The Flaming Candle and its been 4 days and its not as strong as it was the first day in the clamshell. What am i doing wrong when i feel like the scent decreases the longer i let them cure in the plastic clamshells??

Wish I could help you but I've never used soy on it's on. I would say at least a week or two but I can't be sure.

My favorite Blueberry Cobbler is from Cierra but Aztec's is good too.

I think I have some blueberry cobbler from Aztec but can't remember how it smells. Have you tried the one from LS? I may have to order some of that one. It has some really good reviews.

@Belinda yes I live in Texas!  I love their leather. But it’s the only scent that has gone bad over time in my wax. I have some about a year old and it smells sour almost. It’s the only fragrance to do that to me. I just make smaller batches of it now.

Im glad I found the honey Lavender because I can’t stand Lavender at all!  The honey really smoothed our the bitterness of the Lavender. It’s one of my favorite fragrances!

I'm glad you told me about leather going bad. It's the only scent I've repeatedly ordered over and over again, whether it's from Texas Candle Supply or LS or The Candle Source.

Where in Texas do you live? I'm in Cleveland, about 50 miles north of Houston.

  13. @Sebleo, thanks for the list! I have Honey Lavender Gelato but have never put it in wax. I think I'll try to get to that this weekend.

Do you live in Texas? I was just wondering since they're located in Texas and you use leather. I sell more leather than any scent! Texans love it! Most except for this one LOL!

They have a good mulberry and Christmas mulberry. I also like their banana nut bread and oatmeal raisin cookie.

If I only poured stuff I like I would have a very limited collection of fragrances!  It’s not that they don’t smell good to me, it’s just I wouldn’t burn them myself over spa type fragrances.

Reminds me of @aptommo‘s situation with the peppermint bark. People liked the smell but didn’t purchase it.

Everyone is pretty much suggesting the same type of fragrances: lemon, blueberry, cinnamon, vanilla, pumpkin, caramel. That’s pretty much what I was thinking, so it’s good to know I’m on the right track with what’s popular.

@Belinda I see you get some oils from Lonestar. I have their blueberry cobbler which I think is fantastic.  I see your blueberry choice is the cheesecake from CS. Have you tried LS blueberry cobbler?

I haven't tried their blueberry cobbler but that sounds great! I love their apple cinnamon, leather, butt naked, leather (although I love the leather from Texas Candle Supply and The Candle Source too) and a few others, some of which I've not put in wax yet so I can only give an OOB opinion. I see their blueberry cobbler has a ton of great reviews so I might have to order that one! I've used the one from NG and I thought it was pretty good but this one sounds better.

  16. Oh my! I'm a bakery lover so narrowing it down is going to be tough.

    Mrs. Claus Cookies for sure

Pumpkin Vanilla Marshmallow or Pumpkin Spice

Lemon biscotti from Fillmore or Iced lemon cookies from Aztec or Lemon Pound cake from Peak

    Apple Cinnamon from Lonestar

    Snickerdoodle from JS

    Strawberry White Cake-JS

    Blueberry Cheesecake -CS

    Key Lime Pie-RE

I know that's not really narrowing it down LOL! I knew picking only 5 would be next to impossible.
