  1. OMG @Darbla, I can't believe you are saying this right now. I was just out shopping at Michael's and JoAnn's craft stores and I bought a pack of Eucalyptus melts and a pack of Teakwood melts because I like those scents by themselves and I don't always seem to find those scents very often in stores. I was just going to melt them by themselves and I happen to see this post so I put them together in the melter and they smell so good together. I'm really liking it, so glad I saw this post.
  2. Your booth sounds awesome moonshine I bet it looks beautiful. Even if I wasn't in the market for landscaping I would still visit your booth to get a closer look. I'm nosy and have to check things out or curious as a cat. Can you post a picture?
  3. Hi @HoneyKiss and welcome to Craft Server. I make candles and wax melts but there are a lot of helpful and talented B&B people on here and I'm sure they will be willing to answer questions. There's a lot of good information stored on this site so don't forget to do searches, you could spend hours or days reading useful stuff. LOL. Cheers! Laura
  4. @aptommo after looking at your photos again I do have a few comments. I'm certainly not trying to tell you what to do, just throwing out some ideas. LOL. Like I previously said, you're setup looks nice but I think a few small changes may look even better. I'm looking at this from a customer's perspective. - Your setup looks pretty dark and heavy, goth like and I don't know if that is what you are going for. The purple and black are pretty but maybe try a white table cloth and have the small purple tablecloth, black trays, signs and such as accent colors. They will show up more against the white. - I like to see a little life and greenery and you could do that with 2 small fake or real plants. - It is not immediately obvious what you are selling. I know you have that 1 big sign but it could get over looked and it's hard to read from a distance. If you're allowed, I'd hang a poster board size sign down the front of the table, could be attached to the edge of the purple table cloth. Use nice big letters that simply says "Soy Wax Melts" or "Wax Melts". Instantly, even at a distance, customers would know what you are selling. - The tins look nice but it looks like you are selling tins or maybe candles in tins. Along with the cupcakes and bears displayed in the clear plastic, you could set out a few clear bowls or trays with misc. melts in them for show & tell. Right away people can see your pretty product and smell the wonderful scents. Anyway, that's the things that I noticed but my husband calls me a super freak so what do I know. LOL
  5. Hello Brenda and welcome to Craft Server. I had replied to one of your posts earlier. You should find lots of information and helpful people here. Cheers! Laura
  6. I don't have craft show experience but if you are already signed up for them and if you do have the time to go then I'd do it. It gives you more experience and exposure plus then you will know for sure if you want to do those shows again in the future and give you more insight about that particular event company. Just some thoughts.
  7. @Brendag, regarding the burning issues, did you pre-soak the wood wicks in the wax you are using as they suggested? I just love the looks of those wicks and your candles look nice. Here's some tabbing ideas. - Would securing the wicks to the bottoms of the jars with only a small puddle of wax hold them secure enough? - Or don't over pinch the metal tab and then pour a little bit of wax over the end of the wick and the wick tab in the bottom of the jar. - Could you turn the wick tab on it's side and use it more efficiently that way?
  8. LMAO! It's too funny. Did you watch the video at that link? I'm so curious to know if that is KrazeKelly or not.
  9. Right, I didn't know they had fitted ones either. Glad you found it.
  10. Awesome, where did you get those wicks?
  11. Oh yes, everything looks very nice. Looks like you were able to find an 8ft table cloth. It's a shame you didn't have more traffic and sales.
  12. For anyone reading this post, here's the updated link to the 12 cavity clam shells https://candlepackagingusa.com/product/12-cavity-melt-clamshell-clear-pvc-with-hanger-hole/
  13. Wow, those are really detailed and took a lot of time. Very pretty and unique.
  14. I know this is an old post but @KrazeKelly I have to ask, is this you and your website? https://myshineyhiney.com/pages/shiney-hiney-week-on-the-ellen-show
  15. First of all, I love that idea of making layered votive candles out of left over wax. Second, so evidently it's ok or safe to actually pour the wax into a glass votive holder and use it as a small container candle? Or are you popping the votive candle out of the glass holder? Reason I'm asking is because I've wondered if you can safely use a votive holder as a container, seems like it shouldn't be a problem.
  16. Awesome, low shrink wax definitely intrigues me but I see it comes in a slab and probably hard as a rock. I hate that but I guess I could deal with it if I could avoid a 2nd pour. How's the cold and hot scent throw with this wax?
  17. For my used up or scentless melts pieces I plan on making fire starters and/or tossing them all in a recycled #5 plastic container. I can always melt them all down, mix them together and add a new scent and use it myself or give to friends.
  18. You've probably already considered this but just wanted to mention it. Be careful how much universal soy additive you use because it can do two things if you go over board, decrease scent throw and make the wax too hard and too difficult to wick properly. Been there, done that. You have to find the right mix and it certainly will increase scent throw in a soy or coconut wax blend.
  19. Thanks for the reply, I'm not familiar with that wax but it's interesting to hear how other people do things. The scientific/technical side of me loves doing R&D and testing multiple variables to see how they compare. I'm currently having more fun making melts than candles, I think all the wicking issues have burned me out right now, LOL.
  20. That chalk board sign is really cute.
  21. Looks like a nice, wide variety of scents to me but I've never done a show before so I don't know how many different scents is a good number. You have vanilla and lavender in the mix and seems like those are always popular.
  22. @aptommo, iansmommaya brings up a good point, but if you really want balloons then you could get some of the mylar balloons instead of the latex ones. Dollar Tree has mylar balloons. A good way to transport blown up balloons is either in a trash bag or a big box so you aren't fighting with them.
  23. You should be able to buy any table cloth you want at Walmart; Bed, Bath and Beyond, Big Lots, etc. for an 8ft table but it probably won't be fitted. That shouldn't be a big deal.
