  1. Thanks E. Off to home depot to check out dowels and pvc. I've been dying to try bombs but ... You know all the excuses...LOL
  2. The clear tube is open at both ends. You set one end on a flat surface, add your bomb ingredients, smush with the press/dowel then lift the tube off.
  3. The color is very thick. I blend the color before adding to the tubes. I haven't noticed anything not mixing. Sorry.
  4. IPM is Isopropyl Myristate. I get mine at thesage.com but lots of companies have it. It adds glide and makes it feel less greasy.
  5. After my butters and oils have whipped up, I add the dri flo and work that in, then I add the IPM and that's when it gets light and fluffy. The last batch I made I added an extra .5oz of EVOO and it didn't firm up as much, it's much lighter and fluffier. I do the last part on about 8 on the KA, FYI Edit... You can add stuff to it. I usually add the FO the very last. If I want to make several scents I put some butter in a baggie and add the FO and smoosh to incorporate. Then jar it up. It does let some of the air out but thats alright with me. The harder the butter the less people will put on their finger. The less they put on their finger the less greasy they think it is.
  6. I just made a castille batch a couple of days ago and that was the first batch I didn't use SL in about 6 months.
  7. In my regular KA I can make a 10oz batch, that's the smallest. I bought a new KA (professional with lift bowl) and it won't do that, I have to make a double batch.
  8. I love the color from MMS. A little goes a long way. When I make lip balm I make 5oz at a time. To color it I take a toothpick and just touch the end to the color then stir the toothpick around in the balm until it has enough color. I never touch the sides and I don't drop the color off of the toothpick. I have never had clumps or darker areas using these colors.
  9. I have used several micas and also MMS Lavender Fields for bath salts with no fading colors. I use solar salt, Morton in the blue bag.
  10. Good luck finding a Huckleberry that isn't really just grape. I've never found one that is anywhere near our indigenous huckleberries.
  11. Did you buy the 16oz of RBO and the 8oz of Avocado from a supplier? If you did, they sold you the products by weight not volume.
  12. Did you put water in the emulsified body butter?
  13. The only FO from Cierra that I liked and threw well, both hot and cold, was Citrus Splash. No fuel. I have since replaced it with Satsuma from AH/RE.
  14. Isn't that the beauty of art, Candle Man? Thirty of us can look at it and we like it, you look at it and see that the colors aren't in the right order. Wonderful pillars eugenia.
  15. The Body Shop has one also. Personally, I tried it and didn't like it. Do they have ingredients online?
  16. I use lard in every batch of soap I make. There is never a waxy feeling on my skin. I wouldn't blame the lard. Can you list the other ingredients?
  17. I used a bar of soap at my mothers house yesterday that was made almost a year ago. I was freaking amazed at the lather. Then, later, at the kitchen sink I used another soap from about 9 months ago and it was even better lather. (different recipe)
  18. OH MY GAWD!!!!! DS is only 6 years old. Where did I go wrong? How could I have missed it? He is definately on the wrong path. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm off to find my paddle.................
  19. I've had my SB since DS was a baby. When he went on formula I could never get all the lumps out. I'd make a mix of formula with 1/2 the water and SB until all the lump were gone. Then I'd add the rest of the water and he'd have enough formula made for all day. I used it once or twice after that to make alfredo sauce...LOL I started using it to soap with 13 months ago and it is still going strong. It is one of those cheapy walmart ones. I think I paid $8, 6 years ago.
  20. I read about someone that would measure the water into a container then zero out the scale and then add the lye to the water. Add lye until the scale is at the correct weight for the lye then mix. I've done this several times now. I don't have to worry about static I just have to be very careful to add the lye very slowly when it gets close to the correct weight. I don't want to go over.
  21. I have some salts that I mixed up before christmas. They are solar salt with lbulgarian lavender EO with a touch of MMS Lavender Fields color. I mixed them up in a ziploc freezer bag and opened them up the other day and they are still good. BTW, the Lavender Fields makes a nice lavender soap color as well. I haven't had any color morphing with it at all.
  22. I found a floatie in my pepsi the other day, after my DS had a couple drinks. I didn't call the supplier, I just let him finish it. Was that the right thing to do?
