    Purple Lilac, I got your soaps yesterday. They are very nice. I love lilac scent, but love grapefruit scent. Thank you. I can't wait to try them.

    I saw liquid saccarin at Safeway yesterday. In the baking aisle near the sweet N low and the splenda.

    OMG, can I come to the party. I just did some balance transfers today and didn't realize how bad the CC debt really was. The coffee at 630 am just wasn't strong enough for me. BTW, I'll bring the booze, no problem, I'll just charge it!

    I was thinking about taking a little roap trip to Seaside Oregon one of these days and stopping in at her shop on the way. I hope all is on schedule for her opening.

    It is possible if you use the calc at MMS. That one goes by ounces or grams instead of percentages. Plug in all of your #'s and make sure you put the correct ounces used for the RBO. After you calculate, look for the amount of lye that you used and it will give you a good idea of the amount of superfat. Here's the link http://thesage.com/calcs/lyecalc2.php

    Sorry to hear of your bad experience with Issaquah. I've never had anything but good luck with Jim. I did get a slab thrown in a box once, but it was clean when I got it.

    I usually get a free sample from MMS. Sometimes a note pad, a couple of times I've gotten free labels and twice I got samples of lotion. I've always gotten a free sample, but just never expect it.

    Did you check the routing # for your shipment. You have to go into his site to check it. I thought the 5 day delivery thing included weekends. This makes me glad that I just live 1 state over from Issaquah Candle and Supply. I order a case of wax with parcel post shipping and I get it in 2 days for under $15.

    I didn't have any problem with the cart. I bought 10lbs. HPH--I'd be afraid to ship lye without knowing the shipping/hazmat laws, otherwise I'd send a pound so you could start soaping. Sorry Carrie

    I was thinking about using some goat milk. Does that discolor soap also?

    I am trying to make a new recipe using tallow. I want the bar to be white without using TD. Here is the recipe I have so far. Tallow 50% Coconut Oil 10% Castor 5% Palm Kernel 10% That is 75%. I know the recipe is high in hard oils, and tallow makes a hard bar. What other suggestions do you have? I don't know which soft oils to use to not discolor the bar. I also have some OO that says 100% olive, it is light in color but I can't find pomace locally. (Would I use OO or Pomace on soapcalc?) Would this darken the soap any? I could change the percentages but I only have 16oz of Tallow. Thank you

    I agree. It goes on silky, never greasy Takes scent well and is very thick.

    Sorry, but after looking at the "turds" then seeing this line I can't get the movie CaddyShack out of my mind. Thanks for that memory and the laughs.

    I use 6228 for votives and tarts. You must heat your molds when you use this wax or you will get that ugly rustic look, like Fern said. It has great hot and cold throw and you can make any color candle you want, even dark.

    I received an email back from BCN. Here is the reply. If it is not listed as lotion safe it is only safe in products that are rinsed from the skin and used in water. We have a GREAT hot cocoa scent that would be perfect to use in those however that is lotion safe Now we know of 1 more Chocolate FO that is safe in Lotion.

    Our True Value doesn't carry it. I haven't checked Ace, I won't shop at that store. I just ordered online yesterday from Sarah's Spa Creations and I got a shipping notice this morning, delivery in 3 days. It came out to $2.60 a pound with shipping. I pay almost $5 at Safeway for 18oz. I saved alot of money. Robin, thank you for the link.

    I did a search of the archives and found that this is conditioning and great for coloring. Do you add it at trace, do you include it in the lye calc? Who uses this and can give me more info on it. I have some I want to try. Thanks
