  1. (My dad & Grandpa- 86, bless his heart!) have a local apiary so I have tons of beeswax at my disposal , the store stuff must somehow be cleaned or something....

But I'm so greatfull for this forum and all of the expert advice, any of you want to start cold processing soap, let me know!

I haven't used NG's wax so can't say but you might have got a better throw because the candle had been made for awhile. Some find they throw better after curing for a week or more. Don't use the Eco wicks either. sorry but

I just asked about the bees wax in soy. Let me know if there is a difference in throw. May have to PM you to find out how to get the bees wax ready to use in candles.

Love home made soap but have only made Microwave and CPHP. Always in a hurry. Have all the ingredients and as soon as I get some time I plan on making some salt soap and CP. First I need to organize all my supplies so I can find everything. I like using rice brand oil, much cheaper than olive. Good luck.

  2. For thoses who have added this to your soy candles. I know it makes the melt point a little higher but how about soot? Does a candle with Bees wax tend to soot more than one with pure soy. I know it all depends on the wick and all that. I might have a source from a local Bees Keeper/Honey Maker but I'm sure it will need cleaning. Don't want to mess with it if is a bear to wick.

  3. I've seen those jars too they're just a little shorter than the square Mason I sell. Mine are $5.50 wholesale and $10.00 retail. I fill them to the top so they have about 9oz. of wax. I have been using this jar for several years and I'm getting tired of them. Just hate to start testing again plus these jars are cheap for me cause I get them local and don't have to pay shipping. Sure wish there was another wholesale jar supplier in my area.

  4. Has anyone tried making these. Sounds like a lotion bar I've made before. They say their soy is cosmetic grade. Where on the net does it say what the emollient factors of soy is? Also when a FO is skin safe, at what rate does that mean? I have wondered about this for a long time. Never says on suppliers web sites.
