  1. I loved this scent OOB but hated it when I poured and tested in a tart. I love coffee scents too but hate some. Don't know what the difference is but I also hate Hazelnut Coffee from Peaks. I think it must be a nut thing cause there are some fall baked scents with that funky smell in it. I can usually smell it on first smell OOB but this one got past.

  2. I've have been trying to come up with something too. I have a Breast Cancer fundraiser coming up in a couple of months. Donating candles to raise money and for the tables. Only thing with mine is the lady running it, has a logo she has made up that is for men too. So I have to try to make something up. A pink ribbon with a blue bow tie where it crosses. I just ordered a pillar with a ribbon cut out, hope I can figgure it out. I don't do pillars... Thought about doing something in clay and glueing it on the outside. I don't do clay either. I'm making this harder than I should but I really want my stuff to look nice and sell well for them.

  3. I'm not to good at the % thing. But let's say your making 15 oz of wax adding 1.5 oz of FO. Then for every 1 oz of wax you would add .1 oz of FO. This is by weight. If you don't have a scale then guess you'll have to use a measuring cup and maybe a shot glass with measurments or one of those medicine dropper things with measurements. Good luck

  4. I wasn't going to say anything since you wanted a true cotton candy. But if you want a little musk and one that throws great in candles then try SW's. It's a dupe of Pink Sugar and very strong. I can send a sniffy but that won't tell how strong it is.

  5. I scent my wax at 1.5 oz per 1 lb of soy wax. 1 oz of wax to .1 FO or 5 oz wax to 1/2 oz of FO, about 1/4 oz FO to 21/2 - 3oz wax. Hope this helps. If you use 1 oz FO per lb then I can't figure that out. Sorry....

  6. I just tapped my wood stick into the top of a wick tab. Right into the round neck of the tab. Standing straight as a "stick", cool. Might put a dab of silicone but try it it worked great. I tapped in the cut end, the rounded end might be too hard, maybe not. I don't have time for this but it is fun. Let me know if you try it. If you need some tabs I can send a few.

  7. I just tried the wood sticks. The thin as a wick stick would not get a flame on it kept going out. The other stick I am trying is a little thinner than a popsickle stick, for corn dogs. It has a very low almost nothing flame but still making a melt pool. I'm going to leave it on all night to see what happens. I have a large cup to burn candles in that even if the jar breaks the metal cup will hold the wax and contain any flame so don't worry. Want to check for a scent throw and I can't smell real good right now. Need to search some more to see if I can find some more sticks. Would love to buy some reed wicks but 100 at a time is all I could stand. Plus would like some sample sizes before I would buy any. Thanks for the update.

  8. Wish I have some wooden skrews or those ones they sell for candy apples, the round ones. Bet I threw all I had away, and I never throw anything away. Going to check right now. Did the melt pool get all the way to the sides? And how deep was it after the first burn. Love the wide burn so I'm going to check out the popsicle stick. Thanks for sharing....

  9. Now,,,what would be the best wax to use with it. I have several pillar/votive waxes but not sure which would look best. Plus I can always order some. These grubbies have a ribbon on the front. Doing a fund raiser for breast cancer so I'm making the candles with no color and going to paint or something for the pink ribbon. May cut out for a t-lite and not try to wick the large candle. Just want a wax, doesn't have to veg., that will look good for a long time. TIA

  10. I always make the unscented t-lites with soy container wax. The LX 8 works great and just a little bit of a glue dot holds it so it won't slip. I bought some small glue dots for scrap booking and just touch the wick tab to the glue dot then stick in clear t-lite cups. With the LX 8 you can get at least 6 hrs burn time. When you get your wicks be sure to get the small tabs, they fit right in the endents in the cup.

  11. Yankee's is hard to get off plus they hardly use any glue. And heat does not release it. I use silcone and don't care if they can get it off cause my jars are not a fancy keeping jar. Haven't found anything that works better. Also for the sticky stuff or wick stickers, just be sure the bottom is clean. I alway wipe with alchol before attaching in my wicks or if I'm testing cause I want the wick tabs to come out later. Seems like they, jars or tins, have an oily coating or something on them that the stickem's won't stick to.

  12. Has anyone tried the straight-sided as opposed to the standard tapered votive molds?

I haven't bought the straight sided votive molds because I have so dang many of the reg. molds. And I don't make that many to warrant buying more. But I have dipped the votives to make them fatter on the sides. Also have poured cooler wax on top and let drizzle down sides, aka not as much room in votive holders. But everytime I do either one the bottoms get all yucky and I can't figure out how to smooth them out. Tried the sitting on a wire rack, after dip, to dry but still bits of wax cling to bottom and look bad. Any tips on getting a nice bottom when dipping?

  13. I don't think pouring too hot is it. I get this when the wax is kind if oil and solid looking, doesn't seem to stick together is the way I would describe it. If I bang jar on counter a couple of times it looks a little better. Gotta get it right after pour to tap it down. Don't think the color has any thing to do with it. Also needs to cool fast not slow.
