  1. Hi Jason, it's me Sharon in KY, my friend burned the 444 and 435 and 449 for me. Well she said the 449 was the best, great throw and no mushroom. All three had the same jar, color, scent and wick, same everything but wax. Is anyone else compairing with the 449, I haven't seen it mentioned? Enjoy reading what others think and the results they are getting.

  2. Like they say they are more for soaps. That must be what they test in cause they do not always throw in wax. I am one that does not want glass bottles, I use a lb or more in one day and sure don't need my money thrown in the garbage cause it last longer that way. I have had plastic bottles with scent for several years and it compares with the same scent bought a week ago so give me plastic. Maybe for some that don't use a lot of scent at a time glass is great. Just wish I had a choice, I really don't think it would make that much difference in product cost just in shipping. I love SweetCakes Hyacinth, have tried others but none compare, it throws great in soy wax and in soap it in sooo nice. Their Peony is just like smelling the real thing still growing in your yard, but didn't throw in a candle for me but in soap it is wonderful. I have several of their scents I'm saving just to make soap, after the candle season cools off. They are so worth it if you find out which one throws in your wax. Dee just bought Lime Margarita and cold throw is yummy in a tart she gave me to try. HTH

  3. MaryAnn, check out this site. I didn't know you could grow them either, said the same thing. WHAT??? Then I had to grow some, find out all I could, ordered some seed from the internet. These things grew over a foot a day, lots of big long cucumber type loofa's hanging all over. If only I could find a good way to clean and dry them. The info was not clear and I think I bleached too much.

  4. I don't think I noticed the throw, mostly looking for the non frosted candle. How can I pour hot, get frosting, put candle in Micro to melt, let cool and it looks fine. Tried heating jar really hot then pouring hot and still frosting. The only thing that works most ofter is pouring cooler in a room temp jar. But the cooler weather even with the heat on is producing much better looking candles than the Summer with the air on. GF is working on a new mix that is suspose to produce smooth tops etc. Going to try to get a sample just to see if it's any better. This batch of GF135 I have right now is really nice, just hope the next batch is.....

  5. I use Presto Pots for melting, Plastic Pitchers for mixing and 2 cup plastic measuring cups for pouring Tarts. I work most every day and usually about 10 hrs a day. But during that time I'm on the phone or the computer. I make mostly tarts and pouring and packaging take me a long time. I think I make a lot till I read what you all do. A busy day for me is pouring 50 lbs of wax and this time of the year I go through 3 to 5 boxes a week. Love what I do, just wish it left more time for other crafts.

  6. Things like that happen all the time, electric, fire, I use my Micro to make HP soap. Ready in 30 minutes, love it, so fast. Don't ask how many times a pitcher of wax went flying all over the counter and floor, handle got cought in my apron pocket. I said a few select words after each and every tiime. Well off to bed got a bunch of tarts to pour this weekend and the kids are coming over to wrap. Gotta keep them busy....

  7. I have gone through three Micro Waves in the 4 years I have been making soy candles. I melt in Presto and Micro to reheat, remelt, clean containers of wax and melt my embed wax. My Micro is going all day long, I have melted every veggy wax I tried in it. Do what you want but to me it is just part of my equipment. I also use plastic pour and mixing pitchers that can go in the Micro.
