  1. Per customer request. Here is a 20.00 gift box of olive oil soaps. She said the recipient of the gift box loves my soaps and doesnt care what scents I selected. So I selected our (from top to bottom) Pomegranate Rosewater, Eucalyptus Spearmint and Tropical Sunrise. First pic is unwrapped and 2nd pic is with the bow.
  2. From what I've heard coming from my customers mouths, it does matter. They dont want a candle in a jelly jar. They like the more upscale looking jars. I make 9oz balmorals, 16oz balmorals, 3 wick butter dishes, and double wicked tapered squares. They like my candles because they cant find those types of containers anywhere else.
  3. I have some from 2 years ago and it hasnt turned colors. Does yours smell off:undecided
  4. Yes, golden means yumalicious:D
  5. I get mine from columbus foods.
  6. If you have an Ikea in your area, they have great shelves that you can use as displays that are very affordable.
  7. My start up costs for the retail portion was 10,000 and Im still paying it off 11 months later although I no longer own the shop. Plan, plan, plan. Dont forgot all the smaller necessities. Signs, cash register, displays etc. The cost of signage alone were 1,500.00 295.00 sounds pretty darn reasonable. How many square footage? I had 500 feet for 500.00 a month and that did not include heat and electricity. Make sure the owners are willing to take care of the building should you have any issues with the place. We had a gas leak on our grand opening weekend and it took an entire week for the owner to make the repairs in the middle of winter!
  8. You gotta do what you gotta do to make some extra money darling:D Its not like that all the time though. Once xmas is over, it slows down dramatically. Oh and I forgot to mention that my very first fundraiser comes to an end on Nov 8th - right in between (2) two day shows and (2) one day shows during the week. I prepare myself by making at least 2 batches of candles everyday - sometimes more if I have the time:wink2:
  9. Wow, that one looks just like a stress relief bar I made a few months ago. Way to go!
  10. I chose "Citrus Explosion". It can be viewed here.... http://www.ebcandles.com/specialtysoap.htm
  11. Your not crazy. From now until the end of the year I have shows lined up every weekend and two during the week. Some are two day shows as well. I also have a show the same day as a home party. So nope, you are not crazy.
  12. Sure, you can sub out some of the coconut for cocoa butter. Try 5% to start. I had to stop using Palm because the mix of palm and coconut in a recipe was very drying.
  13. it all depends on the intensity of the color you are looking for. I used about 35 drops yesterday for a 4lb batch of lotion.
  14. I've got some shea butter and vitamin E in small quantities if you need some. Send me a PM.
  15. I think I use 1oz per lb of base. You might be able to get away using less.
