  1. Looks like you got the hang of it girlie. Congrats! I guess all those late night chats were worth it huh?
  2. I dont know how long you have been in the business but for me, in the beginning it was pretty slow. You have to hang in there. There are bigger and better things coming up for you. Our busy season is just around the corner and you will see how things will improve:cheesy2: Keep your head up!
  3. I hear you. My inlaws are the same way. They dont buy from me because my sis in law sells home interiors. I have 8 brothers and sisters in law and none of them buy. I make it a point to give gift baskets of my products to their kids for every occasion:cheesy2: Its a horrible feeling when they come over and look at all my stuff and say oooh and ahhh but never buy. There was one instance where a niece wanted my best selling soy lotion and her mother didnt want to buy it for her because home interiors apparently started selling lotion and she had just paid $10.00 for a lotion from her sister. At the end of the night, I ended up giving her that lotion because I knew she wanted it that bad. I dont sweat the small stuff anymore (his family) because I know there are other people out there that appreciate a great quality product and are willing to pay the price for it.
  4. My 2nd attempt at CPOP the other day. This one is scented with Lavender from Peaks. Some coconut milk was added for creamy lather.
  5. Here is my attempt at CPOP the other day. Bottom part is scented with ICS Pink Sugar. Top portion was left unscented and colored with red mica. Pink glitter was added to the top for some pizzazz.
  6. A customer asked if I could make her some candles for her schools fundraiser. She is a spanish teacher at a nearby high school. The one on the left is the colors of the Mexico flag. The bottom green is scented Cinnaberry, the middle white is Vanilla, and the top red is Cinnamon. All scents were requested by the customer. The one on the right is the colors of the Spain Flag. The top and bottom red is scented Macintosh apple, the middle is Vanilla. Again, this is the scent selection of the customer. If it was up to me, there would have been a different selection. These were made as an example so she could show the school board. I hope I get the account. What do you think?
  7. Shes right. Not all scents work. I've tested 4 and 2 have worked, 2 have not. I used the FO straight, no cutting. I've heard some say that DPG doesnt work and I've heard some say that the perfumers alcohol doesnt work. My best advice to you is test, test, test.
  8. You go girl. You guys, if you dont know Heather, she is a riot! She was itching to make soap with only a few ingredients. We had to come up with something for her otherwise she would have ended up in the loonie bin!
  9. Wow, its hard to list just 3. So, off the top of my head....drum roll.... Peaks Kangaroo Blue Bittercreek
  10. Bunny, shouldnt you be at the airport? Get off the board!!!!
  11. Melties. No matter what you call them, they wont understand what it is until you explain it to them. I go through an entire speal every time. 6 pack, break one off, add to burner, yada yada.
  12. Yeah, you can mix by hand. Not sure how long it will take to trace though.
  13. Try downloading Avery designpro. It works great!
  14. 100% glycerin. I add about .2 oz of flavor oil for a 4oz bottle. I use these burgundy colored bullet bottles with a black lid.
  15. What i've been doing lately is confetti. Just shred up the soap and then add the shreds to a white overpour (unscented). I like that look much better than the rebatch. What i use to do is shred the soap, add a little water or milk, then nuke it in the micro until it reached the mashed potato stage. Take it out, mix it up a bit and plop back into the mold. I really dont like the way this method works so id rather do the confetti.
  16. Ah, just send it to me. I've been liking it recently. I now actually make soap to shred and rebatch. I like the confetti soap:p
  17. Ah, one of my favorite scents. Give it a few hours or maybe an entire day. If it doesnt soak back in, you might have to rebatch:(
  18. You sure its glycerin and not the FO itself? Give it a few hours and maybe it will soak back in.
  19. Sounds to me you are more than a hobbyist. 600 candles in stock? Im a full time business and I dont have that many in stock. I would change them as I made new candles. Leave the stock alone.
  20. I ask for $150.00 first order and 100.00 each additional order. Make sure you have a contract that both of you sign. I would definitely offer all your FO's
  21. A great easy peasy recipe is 75% soy shortening and 25% coconut oil.
  22. Thats my issue as well Eugenia. I get rock hard bars with a water discount and some sea salt added to the lye water. I did an experiment today using one of my recipes. I didnt use as high as a dicount as I normally would though. I hope it goes well. Its in the oven now:D
