  1. I use to scent them but got overwhelmed with all the different scents. Now I leave it unscented and pure. When customers ask for straight shea, they want the real deal.
  2. VERY nice girlie. You coming down for the conference? I would LOVE to see how that one smells as opposed to my vanilla voodoo from CC.
  3. Wow, thats awesome. Good luck with that! Stay focused!
  4. I use shea butter and shea oil. That way i can still say its 100% shea. I dont melt it all the way, just a little. Then add the oil and whip it good
  5. You mean cold throw right? Maybe its the FO. How long have you had it?
  6. I've made tons of 4 inch pillars with no issues. all i can say is test away!
  7. I was doing a CP experiment using green tea as water along with coconut milk. I figured I would leave it unscented because i didnt want to waste any of my precious FO or EO. But then it hit me that I had a few samples in a box from various suppliers. I found two samples from brambleberry. Half an oz of ginger lily and half an oz of peach. So, what did i do? You betcha! I mixed them. Oh boy Cant wait to use this one. Smells heavenly!
  8. I had a great market last week. I sold about 4 times more than I sold the previous week. I had repeat customers from the prior week as well. The reporter that spoke with me last week put a small article in the weekly paper showcasing all the new vendors at the market. There is a picture of me along with one of the womans club members smellin my products. The paper was dated one day before the market so I hope that expose will bring more customers come this Friday How did everyone else do?
  9. Wow - how did you get it to rise like that?
  10. Thanks everyone! Nope, I didnt have to grease this little one. But the other plastics that I use I do have to grease them. I spray them with olive oil first.
  11. Thanks everyone. They are 3.5 oz each.
  12. My trio of olive oil soaps. Starting from left.... Eucalyptus Spearmint with green oxide swirl and glitter on top. Middle... Pomegranate and Rosewater with red aussie clay swirl. Right... Kumquat with Virgin Red Palm swirl.
  13. Standard Olive Oil soap. Used Orange/Grapefruit Blend EO from Sweetcakes. All i can see is yum, yum!
  14. Here are some guest sized flowers that I have been making. They are half oz soaps. I think they are just sooo darn cute!
  15. I made these for my sisters baby shower. They are my standard olive oil soap recipe scented baby powder from Peaks. On the tag reads... First line... "Here is something for your shower. Thank you for coming to mine" Second line... "Isabella's Baby Shower. July 30, 2005" I think it was Lizzy who posted that little phrase. Thanks girlie! The first pic is of the soap naked and the 2nd pic is all wrapped up.
  16. Fragrance is Vanilla Voodoo from Candle Cocoon.
  17. I dont understand. Could you please explain?
  18. I used an RRD 40 on most of my scents. It worked great!
  19. OMG, im sooo excited right now I could scream But im not cuz the kids are sleeping and so is hubby. Its sooo peaceful here. Maybe that is why I've been able to master the layered technique. I wanted to make a Vanilla soap that wasnt dark brown throughout. So, I decided I was going to make it layered. Dark brown on bottom, no color on top. Since I use EVOO, its going to be an off-white color anyway. So, I poured my lye into my oils and mixed away with the SB. Removed half of the mixture and added my 1oz Vanilla Voodoo from CC. Turned the SB to high and began to mix away. Sheesh, this sucker turned into a thick trace really fast I immediately poured into my martha mold - thank goodness I had greased it ahead of time So i took the uncolored, unfragranced portion and set it aside for about 10 min coming back every 2 min to make sure it was not thickening up on me. After about 10 min, it was starting to get thick so I poured it on top of the other layer already in the mold. I added some cosmetic grade glitter to the top to make it look even prettier. I hope it turns out nice. I cant wait to see it after the vanilla portion turns dark brown.
  20. You can pour at an earlier stage - when its more watery. OR you can increase the water percentage.
  21. Im so glad everyone is enjoying this recipe. I havent made it in such a long time. People around here seem to take more showers than baths
