I'm working on a project and I can't find anything to use to secure paper or cardstock on matting(same stuff used in picture frames) without it rippling around the edges. I have the matting on wood so this isn't happening because of the mat moving. I've tried mod podge and spray glue and rolling with a rolling pin and they both do not keep the paper edges totally stuck to the mat. I'm using the whole sheet of paper. Not that that should make any difference.lol After I figure out how to do this than I'll paint with a clear acrylic. Any ideas? I'm about ready to make this a second rate project but not willing to give up just yet.
Thanks for your help.

I've used black magic marker for faces so I would think that would work for the other colors too. Still lots of work.

I have tart burners here that I will never us again. There were not enough holes in the top of it to let out the heat. I shoved the tea light to the back of the burner not knowing that I would also end up with a mess. The tart burner was black and cracked. I thought tart burners were safe and left the room for a short while only to come back and find a mess. I don't think it was because of the plastic contain your friend used but possibly the tart burner.

I know what shop you are talking about. I was there last summer and they weren't pouring candles than, just packaging stuff up. At one time this location sold over a million dollars worth of candles each year. Since than the the original company was bought out. I have talked to the original owner and they were the first ones to come up with the cupcake candle. They would have Amish women come in to help frost the cupcakes and got paid by the piece. She said these ladies became pretty darn fast. It was interesting talking to her.

I would fill it with wax and make an outer layer of cardboard than wrap in bubble wrap. It should make it.

That's a great tip Bruce. I have to agree that the same shade crust doesn't doesn't look real.

That looks pretty cool. I'd like to see it in green though.
I hate Donita at times for her creativity.

I love your crafting ideas!
At one time I saw childrens shoes with a stamp on the bottom. I'm thinking they were indented so they wouldn't wear out so readily. Just a thought.

HenryK is right. Those were just testers to see if they worked or not. I do like how your candles turned out. Just a tiny suggestion. When I used them in palm wax I took some fine sandpaper and ran it around the inside edge. Just makes it look more professional in my opinion.
Give me a few days and I'll get these on my site. Thanks for testing!

Welp here is my idea. I think it is a silicone piece that is put on the inside of a metal mold. The silicone should stick to the side but since I have not tried it I don't know for sure.

The little indent in the bottom of the mold is for the wick pin to sit in and you center at the top. It isn't my mold but probably works the way the majority of mine do. HTH

What a great idea.
