  1. Are we talking Soy or Paraffin??? Since I am in General candle making I will assume(?) Paraffin: I have used the wide mouth Kerr canning jars since I started,,,people love them here,,,for my 16oz I use 4786 and I wick (depending if the FO is heavy) I use 60z,,,If FO light 51z. I like my burn 1/2 to 1 inch also. I have also tried HTP 83 successfully with this jar. When I am to my fifth burn my melt pool is doing well. I dont mind if it "simmers" as long as it is throwing and it has a good MP and there is no soot building up. If Soy,,, GB464 I use depending on the FO and heaviness in the same Jar ,,,Heavy a HTP 1312, light (maybe a HTP1212) or the 700 primeier series sizes 780 to 798. Im still playing with Soy,,, So I do not sell these yet,,,be a while,,, I agree with Crafty1_AJ you can only strive to perfection and get as close as you can,,,I am happy with my candles thus far with the 4786. I also have a wee bit of Peaks One Pour Performance Blend I love too,,,I loved that wax. Okay rambling now,,,Gotta make some candles,,,Have a great day!!
  2. Hmm I too am into Victorian things, Hence my business name LadyBre,,But I never thought of trying the Tallow,,,this sounds interesting!!! Im glad you asked this question,,,I may try it BUT if it soots like crazy my customers I KNOW wont buy it,,,Nice to do an experiment though,,,Perhaps on Tapers...
  3. I did a lot of the heart containers but with Paraffin,,I used 3 60z's(2up top and 1 below) and they were perfect,,I sold a lot of them this past year and I have pics on my website;)
  4. Hi,,I use IGI-4625 and NONE of my candles do that. If it is happening to you Scentsibility you need to wick up,,,in a 3x6.5 round I use 24ply flat braid. It self consumes as it burnes. I do "hug" my pillars too. I like the palm pillar wax but I think I would wick up and see what happens. I also like the shell effect. I love the Palm "feathering" one pour, votive/Pillar wax from www.nuscentscandles.com For a 3x6.5 round I use a 36ply flat Braid.
  5. They look Great!!!! I too like the whitness on the top as it reminds me of the woods. Great looking greens,,,Good Job!!!!
  6. Oh I love them!!! they have a nice spring color and the simplicity of their appearance acheived well using clear labels which I like!! They would get my attention!!!
  7. Hi and Welcome to CT:D ,,,,I have been transforming to the realm of Soy too,,,I like having a variety,,,,I too like the 464,,has great hot/cold throw and sets up real well,,,,,
  8. Hi Everyone!! I use all three. I use dye chips with my pillars, tarts and votives. I use the liquid only for some colors such as black, browns, and Pink and when I use IGI- 4786. I use pryme colors for my Soy, to me it makes a sharper, richer color for the veggie based, or soy products. I have never had any smell from the Pryme dyes. JMO;)
