  1. in order to wick the candle for the opening of the martini glass, you need to use a wick that is way to large for the bottom of the glass.

you can either crimp about half way up the glass, or you can do several pours and double glass using a glass tealite container with a gel tea lite candle in it...............

  2. the saline sprays for the nose flush out the sinusesand keep them open so that bacteria does not get trapped in there and grow into sinus infections.

i use the very frequently as i have sinus problems 24/7, 365.

personally, i really would not want to squirt menthol up my nose. my nasal membranes and sinus cavities are already quite tender.

  3. the fact that sandyrose has spent so much time talking to the mftr's of her bases shows how much research and time she has invested.

i know that i came across as the strongest "product police", but there are so many newbies out there who say, tell me everything, or how does this look, i am selling tomorrow.................and they have done absolutely NO research.

it is better that the questions be asked here than when they get out on their own.

sandy, i do appologise if i offended you. but your answers told me you really had done your homework.

you will understand when you meet some of the ones who know nothing and sell everything...............

  4. what preservation systems are you using in your b and b products?

what wicks are you using in your soy candles?

are your fragrances skin safe in your b and b products?

what kind of throw do you have in your soy candles? how long a cure do the candles take to produce that throw?

i believe that since you posted that you were not really aware of potential labeling problems with things like diaper rash balm, that per haps you need to research each item more thoroughly.

this is a good group to ask questions. no one here will thwap your dream, but we will ask you to research and know what you are doing and why you are doing it...........................fragrances come after knowledge of product.

we want you to sell the safest, most delightful product you can, but SAFE comes first.

  5. if you are looking for qualities in soap, you need to know what the oils/butters are going to become once they combine with the lye and liquid.

if you want them for lotions/creams/butters, that is another matter.

i.e., coconut oil in soap is very cleaning and can be considered harsh by some, but in a butter it is wonderfullt moisterising.

you need to know what product you are going to use it for, and sutdy those results.

  6. i get the one from obn that haiku hills(?) used to sell and i love it. it is yellowish green, but when i whip it with some other butters and oils, it is white.

i look at it this way, the more they refine it, the more goodies they take out.

think white bread and how they have to put back in some of the stuff (vitamins, fiber) that the refining takes out.

and i don't get any strong aroma from the butter, when i whip my formula, it has no scent unles i scent it...............

  7. henry,

you have to be very careful with the plastic tealight containers. not all of them are safe for gel wax. i would suggest asking the supplier if the containers are safe for gel. gel wx burns hotter than other waxes.

and vicky is right about the gel boogers, my daughter and i used to groom each other like orangutans do after we made candles....

  8. first of all, gel candles have a better cold thro than hot throw (usually)

sooty burning comes from improper wicking and failure to keep to keep the wick trimmed to the right height.

you need to test (make sample candles) to learn the proper amount of non-polar fragrance, wick size, and coloring.
