  1. seems that the one above is simular to Eugenia's, except they subbed out the .6% Cetyl Alcohol for 1/4 cup cornstarch. not sure why
  2. lightly sprinkle the cinnamon in the mold before you pour your wax or soap.
  3. here is a pic of mine with a primitive tag label I made. The rusty lids go well with it.
  4. Candlewic has one called fall woods. its to die for.
  5. agreed, the FO you are using is difficult to burn, try testing with a different FO until you get the wicking down for this container.
  6. Majestic Mountain Sage, Oregon Trails, lots of places that sell soap supplies carry oxides.
  7. I have had great sucess with HTPs. I use an HTP 105 with this jar.
  8. they also have a "Best FOs of 2007" list posted on their site, I would go with some of those recomendations.
  9. they also have a "Best FOs of 2007" list on the site. i would start with those recomendations.
  10. Actually I just got one in the Southern Soapers swap and I used mine all over the body. It is great for the enitre body. It made me feel real smooth and not drying at all. I would say it can be used all over the body, also for body acne.
  11. actually this could be a very good selling point.
  12. no i havent used them yet, but want to order some. they are a pretty popular fragrance oil supplier so I am sure you will be happy with their FOs

  15. oooh man i have always heard good things about this fragrance oil. i wish i could scratch and sniff great job getting those salt bars beveled without them crumbling
  16. IMO, I would not waste Jojoba in Soap. The qualities will change drastically and you will not get any benefits from it as you would when rubbed directly on the skin. Avocado in soap however does make the suds more richer, so i would use that over jojoba in soap. edit: after all, the only thing you really can get from a soap, is a rich, creamy lather that leaves you smelling good and will not irritate or leave your skin dry. If you are trying to obtain vitamin and nutrients out of oils, then you need to preserve those for use in lotions and creams.
  17. Even though she has a 14% superfat, with the addition of the clay and oatmeal, the soap may not leak oil or be too soft after all. It may still develop DOS though if not used quickly or stored properly. Let us know how it turns out, I will gladly take a bar off your hands.
  18. thats not true. Soapcalc 9WP states for a 5% superfat, the correct lye amount for all her oils listed (including the ones she added at trace) is 4.56oz. So if she used only 4.11, she is somewhere around a 14% superfat.
  19. You have to decide on what size batch you want to make first. A 2lb batch should be good. So 40% of 32oz (2lbs) is 12.8oz. You should be weighing the oils on a scale and not using measuring cups. As far as adding goats milk, you just subtract from the water in the original recipe and replace it with the milk
  20. I would say you used too much coconut, drop your coconut to 25%. Also you may need to add some plam or lard, it will bring up the moisturizing a lot and make the bar more creamy
  21. For small testers, you should probably just to a double broiler method
  22. Is that the cherry blossom one? I got the votive scented with it from the SS swap and I agree, it smells yummy!! Love the greean and black combo.
  23. Here is a recipe to consider Avocado 20% Coconut 20% Crisco 25% Palm kernal 15% Rice bran 15% Shea Butter 5%
  24. I havent used them, but they also have their own message board, where users of their products are posting reviews all the time on their FOs. :smiley2:
