  1. Yes, you can make HP Castile. I am pretty sure you can HP any recipe. Even if you HP castile soap it will still turn to slime once you get it in the shower.
  2. be careful not to microwave it too much. As too much heat can detroy the vitumins in the shea and it can loose some of its healing power.
  3. Clean Cotton Cinnamon Vanilla Honeysuckle Jasmine Wildberry Musk Sandalwood Vanilla
  4. Here is the best information I have ever found on how to make lotions and creams. http://www.tlcsoaps.com/lotformla.htm
  5. As of right now those soaps are lye heavy and probably cause irritation. make sure no one uses them until you re-batch
  6. most molds I have seen are about 3 1/2 inches wide. But there are quite a few suppliers (a couple on here) that will make custom molds at any size and shape.
  7. I recomend using some palm and castor in there. 100% castile always sounds like a great idea, but its really not a good soap. If you just add a little palm and castor, it will still be very mild and creamy, yet last longer in the shower and be less slimey. Try 70% olive, 25% palm and 5% castor.
  8. great soapies. I also love your soap trays.
  9. those look great. I want to try out a 100% coconut soap now after looking at those. i love the blue you got on the second one.
  10. Here is some info I got off Oregon Trails website that sells Flaxseed. Flax Seeds For those fabulous dream pillows that are so popular, these beautiful little flat golden brown flax seeds are the perfect filler. Mix with rose petals, lavender buds or herbs of choice. These could be ground or left whole for an exfoliant in soap making. They are lightweight, therefore, very economical. For making a hair gel, put 2 Tablespoons of flax seeds loosely in a piece of cheesecloth, tie with string, drop into 1 cup boiling water and simmer for 5-10 Minutes..remove the cheesecloth bag with the seeds and the gel is ready to use. Use a preservative for extended shelf life.
  11. I would say rainforests are probably being detroyed more in order to make Palm wax
  12. did you get in on the Southern Soapers swap? I would wait till you get your box from the swap. then sample some of those FOs
  13. I dont see any sample packs either. They are mostly formulated to hold up in CP soap, thats why they are sooo pricey, but I am sure they can be used in candles too.
  14. Calsoy is made by Calwax I think. Accu-Soy is a different manufacter. I use to use Calsoy/Calwax CB3 for containers and I loved it!!! But I can get Naturewax C-3 for cheaper, so I now use that. edit, then again I heard Swans now has a location in ElMonte CA, a little more of a drive for me than Genwax in N. Hollywood. But I one day may pick up a case if I am in the area.
  15. oooh that sounds delish. I love anything with tuberose. I havent tried the B & BW one, but now I am on a mission, I will let you know if I find a supplier
  16. aaah those bath melts are so cute. and I cant wait to use that scrub. hehee
  17. I think its cool. different is always fun
  18. It is true that you will not get the same properties from using oils in CP verses applying them on your skin like a lotion, because the properties change when added in CP and you can’t get any of the essential vitamin or healing properties out of them in soap. But they do add different properties in CP, such as more creaminess, or lather or silkiness or moisturizing. For me, I notice an extra silkiness from adding Castor, and I notice more moisturizing and creaminess when adding Shea butter. other oils may take away from the foaming lather, like the heavier oils, but lighter oils like sweet almond and sunflower, i dont notice less lather. for me I get less foamy lather when i add kokum or cocoa butters
  19. the one thing i stick with in every recipe is 25% coconut oil. this always gives me enough floaming lather. then i add other hard oils like shea or plam oil that give me the creaminess and stability.
  20. Do these float in the tub like Ivory Soap?
  21. Are they not able to ship via Fed Ex or UPS?? Are you using a supplier in Washington?
  22. maybe too much stuff added at trace caused it to be too high of a superfat and not all the oils were able to saponify. Better use that stuff up quickly, or it will surely mold.
