  1. great job on the love spell, love that double color swirl
  2. I believe Brenda pours her layers without using dividers. I have done two layers without dividers and it isn’t so hard. Just prepare 3 separate 1lb batches of soap, keeping the oils and lye separated until you are ready to make the batch. First pour your first layer, pouring at a medium/thin trace. Then start blending your second batch, bring to a thinner trace than the first layer and slowly pour onto the first layer. Then blend your third layer, bring to a thin trace, same as the second and slowly pour over the second layer. Cover and let sit for a couple days before slicing. The layers should be firmed up enough to pour on top of each other, while you are taking the time to slowly blend the next layer.
  3. the recipe they have on there uses Bismuth Oxychloride!!!!!
  4. For blueberry try ICS blueberry muffin, its a strong blueberry with very little muffin. I throws great in my C-3. For strawberry, try Peaks Strawberry, its throws strong in my C-3. You can also try Peaks Blueberry muffin, but you will get a better balance of blueberry and muffin. Peaks has a great Honeydew as well.
  5. yes defiantley dilute the coconut lime with the plain coconut. I mix fragances from different manufatorers all the time with no problems. Just make sure if you are using it for Bath and Body that both are safe. adding more coconut may require restesting the wick, sweet scents sometimes need to be wicked up. I would start with 2 lime/coconut to 1 plain coconut and then keep adding the plain coconut from there. I am sure you dont want something too sweet.
  6. You will need to call in your order to the main office in OH, the number is on the website that was just posted. Then you will be able to pick up your glass at the warehouse located at 1477 E Cedar Suite F Ontairio, CA 91761. You can not just walk in and buy stuff.
  7. :yay: :yay: I am about to pee my pants, i am so happy. I can now pick up fairways glass in Ontario, CA. No more shipping from Vegas!!!
  8. there are a couple of people on ebay who i buy my silicone molds from for making CP soap. One is a pink harder material that seems very durable. However some of the molds with lots of detail, dont release that easy since the mold is so stiff. The soap comes out with some of the deatil broken off and still stuck in the mold. The other mold is more of a clear/white color, its more flexable and squishy. I was worried at first if it would be durable, and so far it is. The benefit of this more flexible type is that is totally peels right off of the soap with no effort. No loss of detail what so ever. I am able to put both these mold types in the oven on warm for 10min with no problems, I usually do this to insure gel since the single molded soaps cool so fast and are more suseptable to parcial gels.
  9. wondering if you are only burning it 3 times in 1 hr increments? Or are you letting it burn straight for 3 hrs? When I test burn, it find its best to let burn for a straight 3 hours to test a good melt pool and see hot hot the jars gets and to see if the flame is too large. Then I will extinguish, let the wax re-harden, trim the wick and re-light for another straight 3hr burn.
  10. very nice burn job. So are you extiguishing the candle after avery 1 hr, then letting it set back up and light again? Its hard to understand your method. But when i test burn, I let the candle burn for a straight 3hrs. then extiguish and let the wax re-harden, trim the wick and re-light for the second 3hr burn. this is the only way to get good results. Most customers burn candles for more than one hour at a time and you need to make sure you test longer burns like that so the candle doesnt get too hot and you can measure a better melt pool.
  11. when i use containers like that, they usually take two or three burns to catch up. The opening of the jar exposes the wick and melt pool to a lot of air and breezes that are in the room, and keeps the glass cool. Once the wick and melt pool get about 1in - 1/2in down, the glass will heat up more and the edges will catch up. I also find that I dont get a good throw until the second or third burn either. I now use a mason jar, the jar heats up faster since I dont pour to the tip top and it has a smaller opening then rest of the jar and the flame and melt pool are not exposed to too much air. I get better scent throw on my first 3 hr burn.
  12. yep i have had this problem with vanilla FOs and with Cinnamon FOs.
  13. your votives will always collapse and melt down the side, thats why its so important to burn them in a snug votive holder. that way when the votive has a blow out, the cup will hold it and it will eventually start to burn like a container candle. You need to burn in a snug holder not a wide holder, that way the diamerter of the holder pretty much the same as the diameter of the votive when burning. Also, what kind of wick are you using? what size?
  14. if you wanted to invest in an additive that acts as a hardener, you could add some Palm Steric Acid or Beeswax. Or actually maybe add some soy pillar wax
  15. Is this the same software called Zen?? edit: oops sorry maybe not.
  16. oooh I love this scent. Its always a favorite for my buyers. I dont remember if I had probelms with seizing, I only color it one color though and havent done a multiple swirl like you just did. So maybe I didnt give it a chance to seize cause I poured sooner.
  17. Try a different one, they areally differ between companies. First try smelling the true perfume and then compair to the fragrance oil suppliers. IMO Peaks and ICS are the best.
  18. True, it will probably hold 9% without sweating out. Yet when trying to un-mold a container wax brand, it is probably crumbling cause of the high percentage of FO used. The higher the FO used, the softer the wax becomes.
  19. me too, but with some musk and amber undertones. Actually I like to add cotton candy to Peaks Pink sugar to lighten up the amber and musk.
  20. oh oh I know I know. Confederate Jasmine from Oregon Trails. Its the best!!!! All of their oils are skin safe and CP soap safe. http://www.oregontrailsoaps.com/fragranceFJ.html#j
  21. Asian Sandalwood from PEAKS Its the best, and it works great in soap too
  22. try lowering your FO load to 7% It may be that this wax cant hold that high amount of FO load.
