  1. I have been meaning to try out some of their FOs. So for my first order I got one of their 4oz sampler packs: Rocky Mountain Christmas (I hope this is a nice pine) Spiced Pumpkin (I hope you can actually smell pumpkin) Spiced Cranberry Punch (I hope you can smell cranberry) Chocolate Chip Cookie (I've heard this one kicks butt) Crystal Sunshine (I love honeysuckle)
  2. I havent tried this yet. Thanks for the heads up about it being a 50/50 blend. I am scared of parasoy blends. The only thing I have ever tested was soy. You may want to try out the HTPs though.
  3. FYI, those of you who participated in the CT Benefit Swap, this is the recipe I used in that swap, scented Strawberry Lily.
  4. aaah then you want Millcreek French Vanilla. This one is not buttery. Or you may want to go for Warm Vanilla Sugar from Millcreek and mix some mint with it, theres is not like the B&BW type, its more of a creamy vanilla.
  5. Thanks for the heads up, I better get my order in.
  6. given that fact, you could probably get away with Peaks Vanilla Mint. Then also blend your own cedarwood with mint.
  7. Yep it sounds like this one is exactly what she is looking for. WSP's decription says its a blend of Mint, Jasmine, and Pine
  8. have you already tried your local Lowes store? They sell a brand called Roebic 100% lye crystals and you can find in in the plumbing and pipe section.
  9. if you are going for lids that do not screw on, then they will be droped for sure. Sometimes those filiments in the apothecary jars dont fit snug enough. Everyone always picks up my candles by their lid.
  10. I saw someone selling some in the classies http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58872&page=2&highlight=punch
  11. yeah i find the wax on the wick sometimes cracks too. but i dont find that this causes any problems with the burn or anything. so i'd rather just do it before i pour.
  12. you may be pouring too hot and its causing too much shrinkage. try pouring 10 degrees cooler.
  13. Majestic Mountain Sage has one called White Sage as well
  14. to me it smells like apples and walnuts with a little spice thrown in. its a great seller in the autumn and fall months.
  15. melt and pour is basically soap already make. you just melt it back down and add fragrance and color, then re-pour into a mold to harden. if you want to make your own soap entirely from scratch, then use the CP meathod
  16. I take a pre-tabbed, coated wick and twist it, the wax that is coating the wick, keeps it from unwinding. I twist it just enough so that it is twisted all the way up but not over twisted where it starts bunching up. I secure the tab to the glass, then use a craft stick like this to hold the wick in place on the top of the jar. When the candle is burned, it slowly unwinds as it burns down, thus making sure the melt pool is burning even on all sides and the wick doesnt just bend to one side only.
  17. weird, did you add real pumpkin? Maybe real pumpkin makes it heat up more?
  18. With C-3 soy wax, I get best results with HTP 105. I also twist my wick so it burns more evenly. I always burn for 2 or 3hr increments. This allows a great melt pool after the first hour and keeps the wick from smoking and the melt pool doesnt get too deep.
  19. totally cute, cant get any closer to the real smell then that. I made some yummy chocolate cherry soap before using un-refined coaco butter and i swear it smelled like a real box of chocolate covered cherries. didnt lather too well though, maybe next time less butter.
  20. I use to color, but got sick of the frosting issues and decided to go uncolor. What I did was beef up my packaging and labeling to compensate. The white color of my candles really gives a great background to my lable and lid, so people concentrate more on that instead of the color.
  21. I bielive Bruce is right, you can just list "Saponified Oils" as your ingrediant.
  22. A Garden Eastward has a great scent called Ginger Milk.
  23. I have tested these in 100% soy wax and the throw was great after a couple weeks of curring. Brown Sugar & Fig Casaba Mist Vanilla Hazelnut Ocean
