  1. Sounds like that one may heat up a bit in the mold. be careful insulating it. The sugar sprinkled on top may melt if you sprinkle it on right after you pour. I wouldnt see why you would need to make a special recipe for this, I think the addition of brown sugar and maple syrup would be enough make it special enough. Whip that baby up and let us know how it turns out. Makw sure to post pics too.
  2. That is sooo freaken cool. congrats. your packaging looks terrific.
  3. Check out the recipe section. it has a few great starter recipes in there. easy ones that only need about 3-4 oils. Lye is no longer sold in most sotres. You may get lucky if you have a Lowes, they sometimes carry Roebic 100% lye crystals in their pluming section.
  4. the best thing to do is probably post the recipe you are considering using so people can post adjustments that may be needed.
  5. they oth look great. that sure does look like chocolate pudding though.
  6. Hello CeCe, welcome aboard. You have come to the right place to find helpful information about soap making. There are a lot of helpful links on this message board. If you look to the left side of the forum you will see a list of links that are helpful, Click on the one that says community, then on community links, this will give you a list of soapmaking suppliers. The bath and body link will give you soap making directions. If you go back into community, then into message bards, you will see a list of forums, there is a forum for B&B Gallery, this is where people post photos of their creations. The best feature in the message board is the search feature. You can easily search for key words such as Steric Acid and see a bunch of threads with helpful information in them. Again, welcome aboard. :grin2:
  7. you can only use stainless steel when making CP soap. If it s M&P, then any type of pan will do.
  8. If they are plastic bottles, I usually use electrician tape to tape around the caps. This usually keeps the lids secure. If they are glass, I usually wrap the bottle in bubble wrap. Make sure to also add padding in any nooks and crannies in the box so that the bottles don’t roll around. Place them right side up and not on their side if possible. If I am shipping in a flat rate priority box, I place them in there at a 90 degree angle with padding holding them up, so that I can close the top but they don’t fall flat. This isn’t really professional type packaging, but I don’t sell fragrance oils retail, just to other members on this board through the classys.
  9. nope, you will need to go up, I would say start with a 93
  10. ditto that. i always have great CS from her. I actually love calling in my orders so i can chat with her about her FOs. hehe:grin2:
  11. I took a chance and bought one from Millcreek called Apricot Sorbet and poured some C-3 soy candles with it. Let them cure for about 2 weeks and they ended up being pretty strong. very yummy actually
  12. Thought I should get one since I will be doing craft shows again this year, just in case anyone ever asks for it. Anyone else out there have a California Sellers Permit? It sounds like if I just re-sell my items to another California sellers permit holder, then i am relieved from liability for the sales tax and the duty of collecting the use tax. So if all I have is wholesale customers, then I never have to pay sales tax? And if I only use my sellers permit to purchase items that i use to make my final products that i sell, then I never have to pay use tax?
  13. its very nice, and it didnt seem to accellerate either.
  14. I had some Mandarin Coriander from A Garden Eastward and decided to mix in some Groovy Patchouli from Millcreek. I was supprised that the Patchouli didnt take over everything, it came out pretty yummy. (yeah I know it looks like Halloween, but me like) I also just received some Asian Sandalwood and decided to try out a brown swirl with some cocoa. After sampling the Asian Sandalwood AJ made for the CT swap, I am now in love with this FO.
  15. where do you get yours from? Let me know when you are running low on the PKO, I would gladly to a trade for some lye. ;-)
  16. just wondering, did you have to adjust your pour temp when you added the CO? What temp did you end up pouring at?
  17. thats a pretty nice selection. and very promising of great throw for us C-3 users
