  1. The mailing tube molds only work that well, since you are able to push the soap out one side. If you make a log or slab mold, you wont be able to push the soap out.
  2. their products seem to sound okay, except their prices are pretty high. ouch. I would say they would be worth it, if you are close enough to drive and pick it up, otherwise I would go with Majestic Mountain sage (MMS) or Oregon Trails for supplies on the west coast.
  3. I agree about the Do right mold, they suck at demolding time. You do really still need the liner. I also think the bars are a little too long when cut and not wide enough. i ended up selling mine. Great swirls there.
  4. The one from Trade Joes is definatley more on the extra virgin side. Its pretty dark in color. Maybe if you find a different type it wont smell as strong. I use pure olive oil from Costco and it doesnt have a strong scent at all and its on the lighter color side.
  5. yes humidity can cause DOS just keep them in a hot dry place
  6. for me i usually remove 2 cups out of my mixed pot for my swirl and i add about 1/8 of a teaspoon of black oxide to it in order to get jet black for the swirl.
  7. put them in your garage. but i agree for the next time, do a water discount.
  8. gosh i hope those swirls hold up. they sure are pretty
  9. this is my kind of soap, love the layers
  10. You are correct. Also I notice they do not lather as much as OO or RBO.
  11. That Oakmoss Sage sounds divine. Is it yummy scent?
  12. Loving how crazy these swirls came out. Scented Fruit Slices.
  13. I sometimes get crumbly soap when it cools too quickly.
  14. everything looks great, loving the liquid castile too.
  15. your lye amount seems right, the only other reason i have seen soap crumble other than wrong lye amount, is if it wasnt mixed long enough. Did you bring it to full trace?
  16. aaaaah some interesting info in here. I love the pink swirl soaps BTW
  17. candlewic in PA has a dupe as well. i have great luck with all their FOs
