  1. I would say most oils that have an iodine level of over 100.
  2. I love the look of the Milk Thistle and Eucalyptus Spearmint logs. better not wait too long or they will be a pain in the butt to cut
  3. Peaks is located in Denver. Since you are in Colorado too, it may be a good idea for you to go to theri store if you happen to be in town and sniff some of their actual FOs.
  4. When using the Soapcalc, look at the top row of links, there is one that says "Soap Qualities", this will expain each quality and give you a starting range. you can adjust from there for your own preference.

  6. You can actually buy a gallon of coconut oil for around $10 if you buy at places that sell soaping oils

  8. So your basically just adding the salt at trace to a normal soap recipe? You just make the soap regularly with the proper amount of lye and water for the oils, then you add the salt at trace? I just want to be sure I am not adjusting the lye or water amounts for the amount of salt I add.
  9. If you want a real white bar, you need to use oils like Liquid Soybean, Coconut, Palm, PKO, castor etc. and if you want to add olive, look in grocery stores for a bottle of Light Olive Oil. Its hard to find cause most manufactorers wont take the time to refine it that much, but I have been able to find some by Bertolli.

  13. if you find it takes too long to trace, start discounting your water amount.
  14. yep, just use one of your already favorite recipes and add the DSM to that.
  15. most people use about 1-2 tablespoons DSM per lb of soap oils. Too much can make you a little drying and make you bar too hard.
  16. personally if I add PKO, I will use it at 10% with coconut at 20%. If I just use coconut oil alone, I will use it at 25%.
  17. If you want a true strawberry to use in CP soap, I have soaped with Peaks Strawberry with great sucess.
