  1. lolol, just take it as a sign from God, NO SHOPPING. :laugh2:
  2. cool, thanks. I had a FO supplier tell me that. One of the FOs wasnt sticking well in my soap and they said it may be too much palm in my recipe. I only use 15% so I dont think its the palm...its the FO
  3. ooops i miss read your past. Man i was gonna say....
  4. I get mine from Oregon Trails. I use it in soap and it smells so wonderful. All of their FOs are made especually to hold well in soap. http://www.oregontrailsoaps.com/
  5. I read somewhere that adding too much palm oil in your soap recipe can cause the fragrance to be weak. Has anyone else heard this?
  6. If you are using the Wide mouth ones, I would start with the HTP 126 and then try the HTP 1212. Make sure to test with the color and FO % you plan on using. edit: oh yeah, and make sure you test burn in 4hr increments. Be patient, you may not reach a full melt pool on the first or second burn, but by your third or fourth burn, as the jar tapers down; it will get hotter and eventually burn the left over wax from up top. As long as the flame seems strong and does want to go out, you should be fine.
  7. yes, I have had some that smelled strong as well. Have you though of trying Carnauba wax instead?
  8. no i didnt scent them at all. and people loved them.
  9. Once the beige and ivory come in, I will order some and send you a sample. that would be a better comparison for you. it sounds like you are expecting a higher quality, which the yellow and soap grade are not a higher quality than the beige and ivory. I personally ordered them to put them in my soaps, yes I expected to have to use some TD to help with the dark color, and so far my soaps have been turning out great. I also poured the yellow in some push up tubes and sold them at the craft show this weekend. I completely sold out of the tubes, they were about 1oz each and I sold them for $6.00.
  10. I would hold off on that opinion until you test out their ivory and beige. Yes the soap grade and the yellow are the lower quality of different types they offer. That’s why they sold out of the beige and ivory before they sold out of the soap grade and yellow. I heard they should have the ivory and the beige back in stock by the end of the month, and those would probably be worth doing a co-op on. IMO the yellow is already way far better then the unrefined shea from Agbanga and that company has been used numerous times for a co-op. I havent used OBN so i cant comment on them, but you would probably want to compair the OBN to the Ivory or Beigh for a fair comparison. As far as not receiving a reply on your email, not sure what the real reasoning behind that is, since it doesnt seem that anyone else is having problems with communication. Maybe the email didn’t go through.
  11. Mine current favorites are Ginger & Amber from Candlewic and my own blend of cinnamon and vanilla
  12. everyone uses the Soapcalc website. you just plug in the percentage of the oils you will add to your batch and the size batch. It will calculate the amount of lye and water you need and tell you the properties the soap will have.
  13. I concur with Lemongrass EO or Litsea Cubeba EO, those are the only two that hold.
  14. no, this isnt made with FBB. I made it using a combo of the Buhunks #14 recipe and Ellens Essentials recipes. This stuff stays real creamy/foamy I had this sitting outside all day today at a craft show, and it didnt melt at all.
  15. yum violet and lime sounds like an interesting blend
  16. I decided to try my hand at some emulsifying body scrub. I used a combination of Bohunks 14 and Ellen's Essentials and came up with a pretty good one. Nice and creamy, I also used Dead Sea Salt. Pink is scented Pink Sugar and Blue is scented Fruit Slices (I called it Tootie Fruity)
  17. I have been making some Shea Butter Sticks using the Yellow and its FAB. I cant belive how non-greasy this stuff it. so yummy. I even made my first batch of Bohunks #14 and used this yellow shea in it, and it works great. Now I wonder how their beigh and ivory compair to the yellow.
  18. I once spent hrs trying to remove the camomile seeds off the buds, never again.
