  1. thank you all for the compliments. I am working on some new ways to display my soaps and candles for an upcoming craft show. Wait till you all see everything set up. i will be sure to take pics of my booth and post them.
  2. I was hesitant to try out this FO do to the description mentioned some pine scent in there, but this one turned out to be a nice refreshing scent with more of a citrus type with a hint of pine that makes it more refreshing. Also attached are OT Spiced plum with purple swirl and OT Lime Sugar Supreme with green swirl. I have been on a green swirl trip lately.
  3. actually just contact Anna at Bamboula, she will ship you out a free sample. I would say the yellow grade has a very slight odor to it, but nothing like the stuff from Agbanga / Kpangnan
  4. lower your cleansing number and that should raise your conditioning number
  5. its on millers site located under, create your own recipe. properties of oils.
  6. heres a supplier i found listed in one of the co-ops for Micas http://www.wholesalecolors.com/index.php?category=27
  7. If you are asking for help regarding your recipe. the best thing to do is post your recipe with percentages so someone can take a look at it and tell you if it needs to be adjusted in any areas.
  8. there may be some for sale in the calssified section. I swear I saw someone trying to get rid of their extras last week sometime.
  9. hmmm, I thought most species of bears where on the endangered list in the US?
  10. I got mine on Sat. This Yellow stuff is great. Not smelly at all and I find its also firmer than the soap grade, which will make it better for body butters and scrubs. Edit: I think this company should be used for the next Shea Butter co-op :wink2: I spoke with Anna over there and she seems like a very pleasant woman to work with. anna@bamboulaltd.com
  11. I thought that bear hunting is illegal in the US. :undecided
  12. I can probably depend on the type of carrier oil the manufactorer used to make the FO with. For instance some fragrance oils are cut with soybean oil, and i know that for sure is saponifiable (sp?)
  13. I have used PEAKS strawberry with great sucess.
  14. This is something that I often worry about as well. The thing about FOs is that you are supposed to dilute them in enough oil in order for them to be skin safe. If you put too much FO in a batch of soap, it may irritate your skin, since you are not adding enough other oils to dilute it. Another problem I worry about is that the FO itself may cause your superfatting number to increase and your batch may turn out too soft.
  15. its a real floral scent itsnt it? I think Love spell is much worse. YUCK and everyone loves that one too.
  16. aaaaah, well screw that. Here try this company http://www.cleartecpackaging.com/mailing_tubes.asp click on clear mailing tubes at the top, then on free samples at the bottom. fill out the form and select Mailing tube, with vinyl closures. in the section "what is the size of your part, put 3" and in the section what is the legnth of your part, put 12". Also in the comments section, I just wrote, please send me 1 sample clear mailing tube size 3"x12" with vinyl closures for both ends.
  17. what the heck????? what company sent you those mailing tubes??? I got mine from visipack and there is no way that the caps can pop off.
  18. nope, dont line it. The next day you will see it pulling away from the mold and you will be able to push it out. It will look comaprable to "wet spots" in container candles. lol
  19. WOW, thats a pretty big difference. :lipsrseal
