  1. 2 RRD 34s. They burn great, well actually too great, I get a real deep melt pool, but the 29s are too small. I may try some of Peaks new cottons. We'll see.
  2. A couple of my latest creations. The red one is scented with Sweet Pea and Grapefruit FO. I used an Olive Oil and Soybean Oil base, added some Coconut Milk, Shea butter, Avocado, Castor and Coconut Oils. Very moisturizing and smoothing. The green is scented with Tea Tree and Eucalyptus EO. I used an Olive oil base, added some Coconut, Kukui, Grapeseed, Jojoba, Avocado and Castor oils. Then I also added some ground oatmeal. This one is a little drying with the oatmeal to help dry out the acne, yet healing and soothing with the EO’s.
  3. Its been a while since I have posted pics., but I have still been making candles when i can. So i wanted to share my latest creations. A little bit of frosting in the Apothys, but meh no biggie. Green Apothy is scented Sweet Pear, Peach is scented Clementine & Daisy, Pink layer is Grapefruit and Sweetpea, Purple layer is scented Cobblestone Path. Hope you like.
  4. Well you wont be able to wick a 16oz apothy jar with one RRD 47 or RRD 50 or even RRD 55. I have to use two RRD 29s or 34s in my 10oz apothys. :embarasse You may need a different wick. I havent used the 16oz, but i know they are the same in diamerter as the 10oz.
  5. i have some from candle cocoon and it smells like a evergreen forest fire. i think it is a very nice christmas scent.
  6. I love southern belle soap supplies and molds!!! I still use their 6lb mold and love it. Great customer service as well.
  7. Peaks already sells their FOs with flip top squirt bottles.
  8. i have used thsi wax for over a year i can not get it to hold more than 1.5oz per lb of fo per lb of wax
  9. I use this wax too and I am haveing the best luck with RRDs. These are cotten cored wicks with special tension threads. Cotton wicks burn the hottest and are better designed than zinck wicks for soy/veggie waxes.
  10. I notice if I just pour hotter, then this allows it to shrink more and they just slide right out.
  11. The additive you are using is just fine. It made by enchanted lites and it was origainally designed for their soy wax. Other Enchanted Lites distributors sell it as well Moonglow Candles and Candlesoylutions.
  12. STICKY/TACKY WAX You can get it from Peaks, or I found some at my local craft store.
  13. i usually dont heat my liquid oils. i only heat the solid ones so they will melt. by the time i add my lye to the oils, they are pretty much room temp.
  14. I use to use this wax and liked it quit a bit. It may be your pouring temp that is causing the craking. I use to heat to 190, add fragrance and dye, then stir for a few min and pour. I found that if i let the wax get cooler than 175 when pouring, they would always crack when they dried.
  15. to make it more firm so they dont melt. I have noticed when i dont add some type of wax, they melt real easy, even just when my bathroom gets a little hot from taking a shower.
  16. sunflower oil has been the best for me without leaving the residue.
  17. i think we have all gone through at least one real bad CP experience, where we had some sort of lye mishap. It is pretty much inevitable when dealing with such a powerful chemical. But is sounds like yours can defiantly be repaired, both the table and the batch.
  18. also throw in some Hazelnut or Almond (Sweet) oil in there. They have really high moisturizing qualities as well as olive oil does.
  19. Heres a metro male after shave gel from "To Die For" http://www.todieforsoap.com/metro_male.htm#AfterShaveGel
  20. the oils and butters you are choosing are very oily. you need to use less oilier ones. Sunflower, avacado, grapeseed, hemp, jojoba and kukui dont leave an oily residue. As far as non oily butters go, you may want to use kokum or mango. Hope this helps.
  21. depends on the wax brand. different soy waxes need different cure times. some need 24 hrs and others need up to 7 days. What brand of soy wax are you using?

  23. yeah i saw this too, but they also say something like these are for novelty candles and they are not intended to be burned.
