  1. Anything citronella would be good. I have a recipe in a book I will have to look up later and post for ya. We honeymooned in Vermont (almost 7 years ago) and we stayed in a cabin with a pond nearby. Well, we couldn't get away from the black flies! We actually left a day early because we couldn't do anything outside because of the flies!! Steph
  2. Hmmm. I am glad you brought this up because I have been wanting to try some palm, just haven't gotten around to ordering any yet. I will have to look for homogenized when I do order!! Steph
  3. I am totally loving the peonies and peaches!!! It is really different and fresh. Steph
  4. Looks nice and congrats on your first try! Steph
  5. I am trying hard to have my shower NOT look like that. I just ordered some samples from Brenda and it is all I can do not to have them all in the shower. That doesn't include the ones that I have made! Steph
  6. Here they are for those that wanted to see!! The three on top (the other shapes) are what was left over, unscented. On the left is Dogwood (BCS), Middle is Peppercorn (BCS, colored with paprika) and right is Peonies and Peaches (Candles and Supplies). This method worked well for what I wanted. Now I want to play with colors and find a recipe that I can stick with! Steph
  7. I am working on getting my pics posted. It is slow uploading with dial up. Here is my recipe: Castor 5% Cocoa Butter 5% COconut 20% Crisco 30% Canola 15% PKO 15% Safflower 10% I wanted a whiter, harder bar that is why I used the crisco. It is looking nice and they smell yummy!!!
  8. I have been trying to figure out the same thing!! I think I am going to order some RBO to try (with Robin's Recipe from the archives). I also want to use mostly oils that I can find locally (safflower, canola, and soy). Steph
  9. Yeah, it was just 3 weeks ago!!! I did HP this past fall. It is neat to see how it all comes together! STeph
  10. I think the oil is in solid form (like coconut) and the flakes are just in flakes so they are easier to work with. Stephanie
  11. Since I only have mostly 1 oz samples of FO, I made a batch of 36 oz soap (think I would have only enough for 3 testers, but I actually had enough for 4). At a thin trace, I poured 12 oz of soap into a small measuring cup and add my fo (only colored the one batch with paprika). I did Peppercorn (BCS) and colored it with the paprika, Dogwood from BCS, and Peonies and Peaches from Candles and Supplies. The only one that went a little fast on me was the Dogwood, but it still turned out okay. I didn't realize I would have so much left over, probably enough for one more test batch. I just put it into one of the cheap molds from JO Ann Fabrics (it went in the garbage because it cracked in several places). I cut them this morning and they all look good. I will try and get a pic on later when I have some time. I can smell the peonies and Peaches the most, but the dogwood is pretty strong as well. I hope we are able to get a colors co-op going because all I have are red and yellow oxides and TD!!! I might have to get a job (right now I am a sahm) so I can support my habit until it starts supporting itself!!! I have one of those small plastic shoe boxes full of FO samples to try!!! Steph
  12. That looks awesome, I hope it sticks too!!! I have tried her soaps and they are great. Steph
  13. Those both look nice!!! I do like the look of the oatmeal, very natural!! Steph
  14. Those all look great. I might have to try that FO!!! Steph
  15. Very nice. Too bad it won't stay that color, but the brown looks sort of nice. Steph
  16. I looked at these earlier, but haven't had a chance to post. They both look lovely and the pomegranate does look like strawberry cheesecake or something! Nice to see you back and can't wait to see more work! Stephanie
  17. That looks great and I am sure it smells great as well! Steph
