  1. That is very nice! The swirls look good. Steph
  2. That is really pretty! My inlaws (all of them) would love something like that. Steph
  3. I have only made 2 batches, but that is exactly what they both looked like! Great job and making your own soap is soooo rewarding!! Steph
  4. Those all look great and I LOVE the watermelon, it looks so real! Steph
  5. That is very pretty! I think I am going to have to try some of this FO. Steph
  6. THose look nice and I think your swirls are great. I haven't gotten any colorants to play with swirling, but hopefully soon! Steph
  7. I have used up to 50% soy oil in mine as well (as reccomended by BCN). I will have to look for VItamin E oil at walmart as well. Steph
  8. Wow, my cousin would love that. She always wears bright colors. Steph
  9. I agree with lavender, or what about using chamomile tea as your water base? I don't know which would be stronger, the tea or the oil, probably the oil.
  10. Well, I am in Northwestern PA, so the closest one to me would be Early American in Pittsburgh. I would love to be able to buy from Candles and Supplies, but they are in the eastern part of the states. Ohio might be closer, Natures Garden and Wholesale Supplies Plus are pretty close to each other. I am not doing candles any more right now (hopefully next year), but I am getting into soap and bath and body a little at a time. When I have the funds, I would like to make one or two trips a year and get enough supplies to last a while, kwim? I like EZsoy from Bitter creek and their shipping isn't usually too bad, especially if you order over 200 pounds. I would call around and see if the companies offer lower shipping if you order so many pounds. Steph
  11. I finally had the time to make my second soap last night (plus dh has been bugging me to make some). I cut it this morning and it needs to dry a bit before anyone can use it. I am so happy I can make my own soap from scratch because it feels so good on my skin (plus family members love it). I can't wait to get my oils from the co-op and try some CP, when I have the time. Then I need to save money for some colorants!! Steph
  12. You have to try these!! They are so wonderful. I need to pick up my citric acid so I can make more. They will be great for those cold winter months when your skin is so dry. Bunny's Bath Melts 8 oz. cocoa butter (the smelly one) 1 1/2 cups baking soda 1/3 cup corn starch 1-2 tbsp. cocoa powder (if you want it brown) 1 cup citric acid Melt cocoa butter. When it's melted, add baking soda, corn starch, and if a dark chocolate melt is wanted, add cocoa powder. If not, leave as is. After everything is completely mixed and molds are ready, cool until pot is just warm to the touch, but still liquid. Add citric acid and stir like mad! Pour quickly into lined molds, then in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Have held up very well in warm weather. *Note: When you make it, if you want to add fo, rather than chocolate scent, use deodorized cocoa butter and add 1 tbsp. body safe fo.
  13. That looks really nice. Wouldn't the coconut oil be too drying? And what is the purpose of a salt bar, just for exfoliation? Steph
  14. Would AKO work in place of the almond oil? Steph
  15. That looks great! I might have to order some of that from ya, my feet could really use some help right now! Steph
  16. Very nice and perfect for the holidays! Steph
  17. WoW! Those colors fit the scent perfectly!! I'd say you are hooked. I have yet to play around with those curls, but maybe soon! Steph
  18. Okay, I had to look up the formula for figuring how much the mold might hold and it is around 4.8 pounds. Of course, that is filling it to the top. I think I might try around 4 pounds. Steph
  19. I was looking for a cheap version of a mold to try a bigger batch of CP in and I thought of a dry wall tray (the kind you put the paste in to scrap it onto the wall). I bought one yesterday at the hardware store for $5.00. I haven't had the time to estimate how much it will hold but here are the dimensions: 14"L x 4 1/2 " W x 3 1/2" H It is slightly tapered, but I think it will work. it is plastic. Steph
  20. I looked at them yesterday, but couldn't post because I was holding a sleeping baby. I think everything looks great!! Steph
