  1. That is gorgeous! Looks like the earth from a sattelite. Steph
  2. Deb, I use 4 oz of water to dissolve my lye in and add the rest of the liquid as goats milk at a light trace! Steph
  3. I am thinking about raising my JJ prices by .50. I only started selling those this fall, so not too many people have bought them. I had them at $7.00 and will probably raise them to $7.50 for my open house in February. I am lucky to be able to pick up my wax and glass (and most of my FO's) locally so I can afford it. If I had to ship it, I probably would quit doing it as a business and just do it for friends and family. We will see how this year goes. Steph
  4. Very nice! I need to make some more of the melts, before Winter is over! Steph
  5. You could always get the satin blanket binding and put it around the edges. Or you could just cut the 1" strips from the single layers and and knot it that way. My sil did that for both of her boys "bubbas" and they have lasted quite a while! Steph
  6. He is cute! I sure wish I could crochet, but my hands get so tight and sore! Steoh
  7. I would be willing to test, seeing as that dh and I both have back pain most of the time (I think we need a new bed, but can't afford one right now). Sounds good! Steph
  8. That is beautiful! I don't think I will ever have the patience to do those, so I might have to order one (or a few for gifts, LOL). You have also convinced me that I need to get a light box either made or bought. Steph
  9. http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/4-oz-Natural-Hook-Malibu-Bottle-pr-234.html HTH, Steph
  10. Backwoods is definitely good. It smells like maple syrup with a few other goodies mixed in. Steph
  11. I have been testing new candle fragrances this week. I just got a few more in and will hopefully pour those tomorrow. I also want to pour a few testers in soap from my samples. My sil smelled my new scents (mostly from Backwoods) and wanted melts in all of the scents, LOL. Guess I better sell some more so I can buy big bottles. I also want to get the rest of my supplies out to my work area (old kitchen). Steph
  12. At least you aren't selling yet, like so many newbies before you have done. I am glad you are taking the time to test. I didn't do that when I first started, but then I didn't really sell at that point. I ordered 2 sizes of wicking and never test burnt. Thankfully, I had only give maybe 2 away as gifts, and burnt the rest for myself. Good luck! It will all come together.
  13. Have fun setting up your old room. I just made our old kitchen into a workshop. I would be dead if I got wax or dye near my new kitchen. I had to take 2 pour pots over to the stove yesterday to melt my dyes and was scared I was gonna spill! I need to look at getting a burner or something to set up in my workshop if need be! Good luck. If you have a sink, then definitely try and set it up, but you have to be careful the wax doesn't clog your drains. I use a dishwashing pan and then dump it outside. HTH, Steph
  14. It is good that the one supplier offered a better deal, even if you aren't buying by the case. Let us know what you decide. Steph
  15. Those are great! I will probably be placing an order for my one and only neice's birthday this summer! Steph
  16. Very nice! I wish I had a new camera to play with. Maybe dh will get a bonus during the year. I have the Nikon D40 picked out (sil got one for Christmas). Anyways, the stuff looks great! Steph
  17. Those are neat! I like the ring scenters, but those pillars are cool too! Steph
  18. Dirtybird, I have had the OCT since this fall, but haven't tried it yet, plan to soon! Steph
  19. I just put a few into wax for the first time and am really excited about them. I am using Pure Soy. Passion Fruit and Guava- I was one of the original testers for this last year and wasn't too crazy about it. Now that I am smelling it agan, it has really grown on me! Will definitely be a b&b scent, hopefully it will kill in candles, too. Rosemary Mint- Yummy oob and it would be great for foot treatments. Backwoods Blue- Wasn't too sure when I first smelled it, but I didn't care for Pink Sugar either, but they are both really great scents. It is a nice manly scent, but would be great for either sex. Breeze in the Keys- Nice tropical scent. I know this one does great in soap (no dc), but it sure has a good Cold Throw in the candle. Pink Chocolate- Another one you have to smell to know if you will like or hate it. It did great in soap and is really starting to grow on me. My sil sounded excited when I told her about this. That is it for now. I will post an update after they have cured and been test burnt. Have a few more to test from them, too! Steph
  20. I thought about that, but I don't need that much right now. These are just for testers. I will try emailing Lotion crafter to see if they have any ideas. Or I might just make a bigger bottle and use it up as I need it. I sent out your clamshells today! Steph
  21. I mix mine in my kitchen sink. I know have our old kitchen for making soap and candles, so it will be nice to be able to leave things out (of course I take precautions with the lye), but it can sit in a back corner where it will be safe. Steph
  22. I used aloe juice, water, liquid silk, CME and Germaben II. It is still a bit sticky (like it was with my other formulas I tried before CME), so it has to be either the silk or the aloe juice. I may just try mixing up a small amount with just water, CME, fo and perservative to see if it is that. I just wanted to market it as a silky spray, but I have a feeling it might be the silk! Steph
