  1. I have tried witch hazel and aloe juice (with a few other things in it), but I could smell the Witch hazel and didn't care for it. Steph
  2. I have a book that tells you how to make the roman shades. I was going to make them for our addition (living room and kitchen combined), but the fabric I liked was $25 a yard on sale (YIKES). I need to check at lowes to see if we can afford custom made shades (I only need 36" long, most are over that). I think you have to be pretty precise with the placement of the rings and such. I am sure it could be done, depends on how much of a perfectionist ya are, LOL! Steph
  3. I use 2x4 labels and put my logo in the middle, ingredients on one side (text box turned vertical) and my instructions and contact info on the other side. You can check out my website (under bath and body) for pictures. I do that with my 2 oz bullets and 8 oz. boston rounds, for my 8 oz bullets, I use a bigger, square label. HTH, Steph
  4. BCS's Homespun Sugar (I wanted to eat it) A lemon Oatmeal, MIlk and Honey A coffee one would be good too (BW's has a good Hazelnut Coffee) Steph
  5. BW's (www.backwoodsfragrancesupply.com) has two yummy ones that are both skin safe, Granny's Yummy Punkin and Pumpkin Cornbread. The Yummy Punkin in soap is a bit more spicy than OOB, haven't tried it in wax. The Cornbread is about the same in soap as it is in wax. Steph
  6. I got to test this for BW and just bought a 4 oz bottle for testing in candles (it was great in soap, BTW). I think it is a dupe of BBW, but it is no longer on their site. Can anyone suggest a good rename for it (something with only 2-3 words for labeling purposes). TIA, Steph
  7. I just smelled the Huckleberry Blues from BW and it smells great! Steph
  8. Yes, they do look great (I love the natural lid with the natural container). I agree, a border around the edge would look great, too! Steph
  9. Very pretty. I love the soft, smaller swirls! Steph
  10. That is beautiful! I would hate to cut that! steph
  11. Thanks everyone. Meredith, I didn't take your message the wrong way. Trust me, I have thought long and hard about my packaging and I like the way the Dan's Bands showcase my soap and protect it. I guess I would just like to see some profit coming in so I can purchase more supplies with my checking as opposed to putting in on the CC (or at least knowing I have the money to pay when the CC bill comes). My dad just finished up a little hutch to put in my mom's shop, so once I get things rolling with my candle testing, I will work on getting stuff around for that. Any more ideas are welcomed! Steph
  12. I haven't advertised yet, mainly because I haven't had the money. I am hoping to put an ad in the local classifieds within the next week or so. I have my stuff in my mom's sewing shop and in a local salon downtown. I just now put my lotions and body washes out, so I am hoping those will help me get some money for more candle product and advertising. Right now I am using the Dan's bands for wrapping my soap. I will try and get a picture up for any suggestions on improving that. I had started out with boxes, but I like the Dan's bands for showing the colors of the soap. I think my prices are fair, if you look at my website, I have them priced the same as I do at my locations. Thanks. Steph
  13. Okay, I have been selling my soaps for almost a year now and have them priced at $4.00 each or 3 for $10. I have sold a few, but not as many as I would like. They are between 3.6 and 4 oz, for the most part. I was thinking of making them around 3.5 oz and selling them for $3.50 each or the same 3 for $10 deal. We live in a smaller town, but I want to get some product moving. I would still make a decent profit off of them. Any other ideas? Thanks, steph
  14. They all look great! I hope they harden up for ya! Steph
  15. I just found a bar of Irish Spring a few weeks ago while cleaning out under my sink. It will be 2 years this fall since I switched. Even the store bought body washes don't do it for me anymore! I still like my own body washes for going away though. steph
  16. I made my first batch of Catille-type goats milk over a month ago and it is the best thing I have ever put on my skin! Steph
  17. That is really dark, but really gorgeous! Steph
  18. GLad it isn't just me, and it has been humid lately. THanks, Steph
