  1. I prefer not to gel as I like the more opaque look of the ungelled soaps. Some FO's you can't avoid it as they are heaters anyway, as well as honey soaps. Steph
  2. I had some of soap samples down in my basement and I picked them up today and they had sweat all over them. Not a big deal because I am no selling them, but it is cool and pretty dry down there. Any ideas? Steph
  3. Looks great and I bet it smells like vanilla frosting! Steph
  4. They look great!!! Where did you find those tiny baskets? I love the bigger ones for giving bridal and baby gifts, but have never seen the small ones. Steph
  5. Those look great! I am glad I don't have a cat in the house. The kids are hard enough to deal with at that time, LOL! Steph
  6. The Lemon Tart does not discolor at all! I have my tester batch from over a year ago and it is still yellow and white. steph
  7. Looks great! I need to go visit Connie and smell this one. steph
  8. The fresh milk seems to be the best. Makes a nice creamy bar! Steph
  9. You are right, E. I just was having a moment and didn't realize it. I guess what I meant was I didn't add any extra oils or butters at trace. I superfat at 5%, but melt all my oils together and then add my lye water. steph
  10. Looks nice! You are jumping in pretty quick with superfatting and such. I still haven't superfatted a soap and I am going on my second year. Great job and I bet it smells good. Steph
  11. That last batch looks great!!! I just made a castille type goats milk soap a few weeks ago and I dissolved my lye in about 4 oz of water and added the rest of my liquid as goats milk at trace. It is a nice off white creamy color and no zap! It feels so great on the skin, too. I am thinking of adding goats milk to more of my soaps, as long as my color stays neutral as not to interfere with my color. Steph
  12. I think it looks neat! Don't forget to post cut pics! Steph
  13. They look great! I love the rich colors. steph
  14. If you are killing yourself trying to fill special orders, you will wind up regretting your business and not want to do it anymore. I agree, stick with your 6 minimum or whatever your minimum is. Since you live in UK, shipping is probably a nightmare. Ask them if they can wait or if they want an alternative. You aren't a huge company, just a single person making candles. HUGS and I hope things get better for you. Steph
  15. It is a little light in CP, but would be great for someone who doesn't like strong, perfumey scents. I love all of their new scents. Steph
  16. As long as they are skin safe, you can use them. The amount depends on what you are going for. As long as the lotion is white when you rub it in and it doesn't turn your skin colors, it is okay. To get a true red, will be hard, it will end up turning a dark pink. Steph
  17. Very nice! I love the yellow and purple. Steph
  18. Very nice! How do you find the time to do sewing and candles or soap? Steph
