  1. okay, I was working on my second batch of votives yesterday and I can't get my repours to look nice. There is a line between my original pour and my second pour. I had my second pour about 10-15 degrees hotter than my first. Also, I have lines in my votives. Not sure if they are jump lines or what. they don't look too bad (more rustic than anything, I guess, which would be okay for my line), but didn't know if I could prevent them. I am currently using 6228 because I could get it locally, but they weren't sure if they were going to be able to continue to carry it any longer. I ordered some 4794 for after I am finished with the 6228. I am using wick pins and poly molds. Thanks, Steph
  2. Glad you got it taken care of. I have never had a problem with bittercreek that wasn't resolved asap! Steph
  3. Love everything! Your labeling is so simple, yet very classy! Bet they smell great. Steph
  4. I made this base using 33% base, 3% pearlizer and foam booster and the rest water and it is VERY thick!!! I just pour mine into the ziploc bag, squish it around and cut the corner off and pour into my bottles. Steph
  5. Right now I am using the little tin buckets like you get at walmart that have lids and are fancy. I just bought some Christmas ones and will have one for each flavor. Not sure what I will do when I need something bigger! Steph
  6. Thanks for all your comments. my sil informed me yesterday that it isn't for an auction, it is more of a raffle type deal, but they have already sold quite a few tickets. It is nice to know that it is all going for a good cause! Steph
  7. I did it similar to you. I put it in the bags, added fragrance and color and then squeezed it through the funnel. The funnel helped channel it a bit more so I didn't have as much going all over the place! Good luck, Steph
  8. Those are cute. I almost picked up some of those sleds at DT, but didn't know what to do with them. I might see if they still have a few. Steph
  9. I think it looks neat! I have yet to try salt bars, maybe after Christmas! What scent is that? Steph
  10. I think I found a trick that works for me. I do the sides first and then the top and the bottom last. A few of the edges still curl, but it works for the most part. I like these better than the boxes because not only are they cheaper, but you can see and smell the soaps a lot better! Steph
  11. I am running into that same problem. My cousin gave me a decent sized order for Christmas and I am having trouble getting that done. It doesn't help that I don't have a good work area set up, yet, so i am hoping that will help when I have a permanent area. I guess being efficient just comes with time! Steph
  12. You cannot use candle coloring for soap. Steph
  13. Mine edges are curling towards the top. I guess I will have to move a bit slower and not have it so close. Thanks, Steph
  14. I have both the regular bands and dan's. I am having trouble with the edges curling up. It does help a bit if I tilt my heat gun that direction a bit, but they are still curling. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. THanks, Steph
  15. I did this for a Make a Wish auction in December. I hope it brings in money for the children while getting my name out there because I am new to selling. It includes a snowman tart burner (Jackel), 5 clamshell tarts in holiday scents, 2 bars of CP soap, and 2 ornies. TFL, Steph All wrapped up:
  16. Here are a few of my recent soaps. The first is Coffee Kitchen soap made with bc's lemon bundt cake (CO, I think) and just a bit of Citrus Splash that I had. I used yellow oxide, but it was a bit too much and looks like mustard. Smells great, though! The second is my rescued Green Tea and Rose (Backwoods). The first picture is when my FO ate through my cup and I had to hurry to find FO's that worked. Well, it looked okay, but didn't smell as good as BW's, so I chunked it up and put it between my layers of the good GTR. It smells great and my pink is getting even brighter. It doesn't look as good as my first batch that went horribly wrong, but I still like it! Last is a basket that I did for a local Make a Wish auction in December. There is a snowman tart burner (Jackel), 5 clamshell tarts in holiday scents, 2 bars soap, and 2 ornies. I hope it helps out the children and gets my name out there at the same time! TFL, Steph
  17. I think an ivory label would look nice with the gold. I am using those because they match my logo better. The only trouble I had with buying precut labels was getting them to line up right (I bought them from www.labelsbythesheet.com and some of theirs don't have avery compatible templates). Now, I am just going to use my scrapbooking tools and cut them from a regular sheet of the label paper. HTH. Steph
  18. I was gonna ask about the Cellini red. I am glad that was the only Mica I got, the rest were UMs. Steph
  19. Yes, that looks very cool. How did you get the beeswax look? Steph
  20. Thanks, I got a few oz of beeswax off the classy's! Steph
  21. I got a delinquent notice from the tax people for the third quarter for filing sales tax. I didn't sell anything during that qtr, so I don't have anything to turn in! It won't let me file a 0 on etides. How can I tell them I didn't have any sales tax? Thanks, Stephanie
