  1. I just had a batch that didn't have goo, but lye water came pouring out. I was gonna rebatch it and ended up pitching it. It was so pretty too! steph
  2. I have used mostly oxides and natural colors (paprika and cinnamon). I got my oxides from the classies and from WSP. the only one I have really had trouble with was the red oxide from the classies, I get red bubbles with my Spiced Cranberry soap. I have also tried the geltones frim BCN, but I have to use so much to get the color I want. I think I am going to stick with the Oxides and I did order 1-2 micas from Shutterbug's co-op that i can't wait to try. Steph
  3. Thanks LaVida. I think I may have seen it at Walmart, but haven't had a chance to look since (and I just got back from there, LOL). I just need to get my first labels made so I can get my lotions and body wash ready for christmas. Steph
  4. Very nice! At least you didn't have to throw your batch away like I did mine! Steph
  5. I am using Printshop 15, but just got a free version of Printshop 21. Are you all using a better version? I would love to upgrade, but can't afford it right now. I think I will tryAvery Design Pro for now. Steph
  6. I used the Ruby Red Geltines for both the rose and the mac apple. It was pretty red at first, and then it turned to pink. It was okay for the rose (which was tossed), but next time I will use red oxide for my mac apple. Steph
  7. the first is Green Tea and rose, and, unfortunately, I had to throw it out. It is a shame because this is my best swirl yet! I am not sure what happened. When I cut it, lye water gushed out of it! I cut it all up and it had lye pockets. I was gonna try and save it, but just threw it out. Guess I will have to order more. It was Backwoods. You can see in the one picture that it had a big hole in the one piece. Oh well, live and learn. I made the other two batches the same day and they turned out great! Sorry, I didn't realize it went through. I am adding pics! Here is the big hole: Mac Apple Pink Sugar Next time I think I will just do a pink layer on the top instead of trying to swirl. TFL, Steph
  8. I just got my oval labels for my lotion and body washes. I usually use Print Shop for my labels, but am having trouble designing a template. Does anyone use my program or can give me any pointers? I am going to attempt to download Avery Design Pro tonight (we still have dial-up) and follow the instructions from LBTS. Any tips would be great! Thanks, Stephanie
  9. Love the jars, the wax inside, and the labels! It all looks great. Steph
  10. I like them both. Love the clear labels. Steph
  11. Well, Backwoods is only about 25 minutes from me, so I can get PKO, Coconut, Olive Pomace, and many of my FO's from them. If I couldn't get stuff locally, I probably wouldn't be making soap!!! Steph
  12. those are cute. I like the snowman. Steph
  13. Thanks, Funky. I went and picked up my coconut oil and some more plastic cups last night. I plan on soaping after I get home from church! Steph
  14. Okay, so I picked up my new Backwoods FO's yesterday, all prepared to make soap today. I got my lye water mixed up and had my PKO melting and went to get the rest of my ingredients and found out I was out of coconut oil! I was already at Walmart once today, so I will have to pick some up tomorrow or Monday. Just makde me mad. No hubby or kids for an hour or so and I really need to make this soap! Okay, I am done ranting now. It is my own stupid fault for not checking my ingredients. can't wait until I can buy in bigger quantities so I can avoid this problem! Steph
  15. I like WSP. Cyclo is a bit too heavy for my thin hair. WSP is alcohol free and I even spray a little bit on my hair (3-4 mists total) and it keeps my hair looking great. It is clear and the FO blend great with it. Steph
  16. I love their Peonies and Peaches. That might be the only FO from them that I will order, but I really want to try their tart/candle warmers. Steph
  17. You could try a search on the board. Look in the upper right corner of the FO discussion board. HTH, Stephanie
  18. I too have some tarts left over from about a year ago and they still smell great, both hot and cold. Steph
