  1. Everything looks nice. Sorry you didn't make any money, but hopefully the next time. Steph
  2. I am working on making this my mostly FT job. I help my mom out in her sewing shop (doing alterations, custom sewing, and tuxes) once or twice a week. I also have three young children, the oldest just start kindergarten, so i am trying to figure out how to work around a 3 1/2 year old and a 19 month old. I will be selling in my mom's shop, from home, and maybe a friend's salon. I actually tried to start 2 years ago, but then got pg with #3 and just didn't have time. I am hoping to be doing decent within 2 years. My dh is supportive and wants to help, but as long as he can keep the kids busy if I need him, then that is more than enough help! Steph
  3. We bought an HP 2110 3 years ago and it has done great for us since then. I would reccomend either HP or Epson, as the seem to be the best out there. The ink is a bit expensive, but I found some places online that offer free shipping over a certain amount and it is alot cheaper than buying from the store. Good luck! Steph
  4. You have been busy!! Everything looks great. Steph
  5. Glad you weren't hurt and it just goes to remind all of us that we can't get too comfortable with the lye. Steph
  6. very nice (both the soap and the dog). We had an Oreo, but she was a cocker spaniel. Steph
  7. Better than my first batch (I have made LOTS of soap in almost a year and am just now getting the swirling thing, LOL). STeph
  8. The vanilla spice is to die for!!! I hope the purple deepens for ya, but I still think it will look nice! Steph
  9. Even though it didn't turn out the way you wanted, it still looks great!!! Steph
  10. Looks good! Can't wait to see the cut pics! Steph
  11. I guess i can jump in on this!!! I finished making my liners for my soap mold (can make all different size batches now). I am working on acorn and leave floaters for my cousin's wedding in 3 weeks (only have about 10 more total to make and then I need to order wicks to wick them). I need to test some soap fo's either tomorrow or Monday. And, if i have time I would like to start pouring some clamshell stock and aroma beads for October when I plan to open shop! Steph
  12. I agree with Jan, it isn't always a good idea to go into business witha friend. My dh did it 3 years ago with his good friend and their friendship hasn't been the same since. They went into horse hauling (friend found the lady who they contracted out to) and they didn't get paid for 2 trips and we lost so much money it isn't even funny. We were down to our last pennies and even had to borrow from both sets of parents. Thankfully, dh and his friend were able to get their old jobs back and we are doing fine now (so fine that I am starting my own busines in the very near future. Just really think it through!! Steph
  13. Congrats!! I hope to be in the same spot in the next few months (my mom has her own sewing shop and a friend told me I could put my stuff down in her salon as well). Good luck! Steph P.S. I would say to start out with 4-5 scents and see how it goes from there.
  14. No clue what that may smell like, but it looks awesome! Love the colors. Steph
  15. The blue one turned out nice, but I love the swirls on the pink!!! Steph
  16. Not sure if they are shabby chic, but they are lovely! I would definitely pick those up to look at! Are they MP? Steph
  17. Dogwood, Peppercorn, Citrus Splash, Country Sunshine, Christmas Spice, Homespun Sugar, Red Velvet Cake. I made a sugar scrub out of the homespun sugar and almost wanted to eat it!! Steph
