  1. http://fromnaturewithlove.com/soap/product.asp?product_id=moldoval These molds are pretty durable compared to some of the flimsy ones that are available.
  2. If I were you I would try samples of each base to see how they perform individually. You might be happy with one or the other just the way they are. If you want more out of them, then go ahead and experiment. Most m&p bases tell you that adding additional oils to them may reduce the lather. Since you like lots of bubbles, it doesn't sound like the way you want to go.
  3. That's interesting. No wonder healthcare costs so much. If that goes on in a giftshop, imagine the inflated prices for medical services/products. Did you tell that lady $3 was your wholesale price? It might be possible that the hospital/giftshop is supposed to do a certain amount of community service, so by purchasing candles from you they can say they support the local community. I hope her $7.50 isn't too high, because if it is that could mean no re-orders. But, like every hospital giftshop, anything in one costs a ransome.
  4. Candle Queen Your cards could have a crown on them as part of your logo.
  5. Another danger in it I see, is that if it should get yanked out of the wall and the tart has melted and is still in liquid form, you could run the risk of having it spill on the prong and be electrocuted.
  6. Maybe you can write back to her informing her, "There are no wholesale opportunities at this time. Thank you for your interest." Then you can mess with her and ask her to complete an application, which you "will keep on file." Ask for all of the usual business info that was mentioned previously, but also ask what her yearly sales are, list three credit references, what her top 5 lines are, and require that she mail a copy of her retail license to you as well. I bet you won't hear from her again.
  7. Worse yet, what's to keep a pet or small child from getting into it or even eating it?
  8. I would be grossed out finding stuff in beeswax. The natural-ness of it would not hold any appeal to me. I want to at least have the impression that things are clean and sanitary. I'm not saying that your stuff isn't, it's just my mindset, when I find strange things not normally found in a product. I also feel like there definitely would be some people that it would appeal to--the "naturalists", who are more educated on products like yours and would not be appalled by finding bee parts in the stuff, and actually enjoy the scent of it. Unfortunately, I think we are all so used to overprocessed commercial products that most of us have become spoiled and might be turned off my the more natural beeswax option.
  9. I found this source while I was looking for something else and thought some of you might be interested in the tins for your candles. http://www.jollygoodtea.com/DetailsAccessories/DetStorageTea_Tins.htm
  10. Another difference is when you're selling Avon you're not manufacturing anything. When you making soaps and candles you are. When you sell those other products, most of your business is conducted outside of your own home--you have to travel to visit clients and deliver orders.
  11. You might be able to find something on ebay. You can also try restaurant supplies. Sometimes they offer bags.
  12. Do you have a tax ID number? Most places will require one before they send samples.
  13. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking! Pick our brains to help you, then don't share your ideas.
  14. If you're limited to b&w ink, one way to add color is to use color labels. Of course, that only works if you don't need waterproof labels.
  15. The trend I see now is everybody is wrapping their soaps in fabric (ends open), with a cigar band around it. I got a question for you--where do you get your shrink wrap? I shrink wrap I have is for gift baskets and much too stiff for soap.
  16. Unless you're going for a country look you could glue flat back crystals on them. Here's a site that has reasonable prices on them: http://www.gspncrystals.com/20122.htm Another thing you could do glue ribbbon roses on them. You can buy them at fabric stores like JoAnn's in the ribbon section. Walmart probably has some too. Here's an example: http://www.artisticribbon.com/2004RosebudsBows.htm You could also use a stencil of something like a heart, or fleur de lis, spray the opening with adhesive, then sprinkle glitter in the opening. Sorry, I don't have a link for this idea. I think things like that will really glam them up and will allow you to charge a premium price for them.
  17. I don't know about that particular scent, but I purchased Baby Grace from SW. I never smelled the original version, but I make lotions using Baby Grace (I named it something else), and it is a best seller--people love that scent. I wouldn't hesitate to try SW's other versions.
  18. I agree with Bunny. Oils can start out with sediment in it, but I think most manufacturers would filter that stuff out anyway, so that what they sell you is a clear oil without gunk in it. (When I say clear, I don't mean it can't be golden in color or anything.) It makes me think of dirty cooking oil in a deepfryer--you know, it starts out clear, but the more you use it the darker it gets, and the more grit shows up in it. Was the sediment in there when you originally purchased the oil, or is this something that has occured over time? I wouldn't use it either way, but if it has occured since you got it, I would say it's definitely tim to throw it away. I honestly question the vendor that said there were "lots of eo's" in the fragrance oil. Fragrance oils that most of us purchase are chemical reproductions--no eo's, or certainly very minimal amounts of eo's. If many eo's were used to make your fragrance oil it would probably be one very price FO. The other thing that bothers me is that you would receive a FO in a clear bottle--especially if it contained so many EO's.
  19. I have a stupid question...If they're not tub teas, and they don't go in water, how will they be used?
  20. You forgot to give us the details about what the lady said!
  21. Thank you both! It was kycandlewaxsupply. I tried every combination I could think of--just never thought of adding "supply." Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!
  22. I've lost my link to a supplier and can't remember their name. A lot of people use them for their body butter. Anybody know who I'm talking about? I didn't recognize the name under the b&b supplier list here. Thanks for any help!
  23. Who was the vendor, so I know not to buy from them! That doesn't sound right to me. Sounds like there's some kind of contamination in the oil. Most fragrance oils we buy do not have essential oils in them--they're all just chemical imitations. Not to say that yours couldn't have EOs in it, but even if it does, I haven't come across EOs with sediment. I did purchase a sample (thank goodness) of FO from Aztec Wax that had white flakey sediment in it. I called them and they said they would issue a credit on my next order.
