LaPetiteBougie
I'm new to wax melts making and am having problems getting the wax to come out of the clamshells after setting. I have tried IGI 4794 and IGI 4786. I've tried different pouring temperatures, but they won't release. And when I say they won't release, I mean it almost takes an act of god to get them out. I also work with IGI 4636 and though about adding some of that to see if it made any difference, but thought I'd seek out some help here first. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you. IwantItgreen
How hot are you pouring? 4794 is quite brittle and you shouldn't have trouble popping those out.
LaPetiteBougie
For both waxes I poured them at 150 degrees. My first test with 4794 I poured at 180 degrees and it seemed to melt the plastic a bit. After doing some research and then tried the 150 degrees. Any suggestions you have are welcomed. Thank you. ktaggard
Freezer. I put them in freezer for a few minutes, then pop them out of mold or clamshell. It's an extra step but I love my wax blend so much I don't mind. If I'm using a clamshell, I just put it right back in and it stays detached from sides. rjdaines
Try using 4625 instead of 4794. At 50% I get great release from the mold.
simply fragrant
I have used 75% 4794 and 25%4627 and had no problem with getting them out of the clam, hth!
LaPetiteBougie
Thank you everyone for your help. I've ended up mixing 75% 4794 with 25% of the 4636. After they've set I put them in the freezer for a little while and then they pop right out. Thank you again.
