Jcandleattic
I know I've used one before but now can't remember which one and it's been many many years. I'll have to look at each one to try and figure out which ones I've used....

I want to give Kat's creamy bubbles soap a try... or at least its in the works when I can get to it.

Barbara AL
I have tried Elizabeth's Luxury Bar recipe but I can't find it on here anymore.
Jcandleattic
I think the one I tried isn't on here anymore either, but I can't remember the name of it. Was there someone named "Grumpy Girl" on here? (Not Quiet Girl - someone different) she did an "Acid Trip" soap that used like 16 colors or something crazy like that? I think I tried one of her recipe's. but I may be thinking of a different board entirely... LOL
ktaggard
I made Darwin's and Kat's recipe when I first started soaping a few years ago. I really liked Darwin's recipe, but ultimately went for less CO and PKO in my bar. Might have to try it again now that I have some experience to see if I still like it. I have a block about going much above 16 on the cleansing number - in soapcalc. I know that is still possible to make a nice bar with higher cleansing, but just can't seem to do it.

But I still want to try them myself because of all the great reviews. But like you I really don't like using a high amount of CO as it can make my skin itchy. I was thinking of using a higer superfat because of the high CO/PKO. Maybe an 8 or 9. Did you superfat at all when you made these?

I once got some melts from her and adored her cute packaging and the melts. She had just made a new tart mold with her Grumpy Girl logo. Her soap was called "Angry Clown Soap Bars" and they are in the archived classroom section: http://www.craftserver.com/topic/57887-angry-clown-salt-bars-by-grumpy-girl/ Scented recovered it and posted it and I am glad she did. One day when I am feeling courageous and ambitious I want to give it a try!

chuck_35550
I didn't care for Darwin's or Kat's recipes. I remember Grumpy Girl, she had a really stong brand there for a while and was speaking and demonstrating her techniques to different soap meetings. I thought her product logo and her soap swirling were really inventive. I am still amazed at how well the Quiet Girl's recipe performs in the shower. I've found that with the right fo you can get lots of time to swirl but if you get one that accelerates; you better move fast. I love most of Bunny's stuff and would love to include some of her stuff but I'm too ambitious as it is with the addition of bombs and bath salts. I have an open house the 16th of this month, so its non-stop work for the rest of the season. Steve
Jcandleattic
My main recipe has a high % of both CO & PKO but completely different than the ones posted here. My cleansing number is WAY above what most people would consider the "norm" however, my soaps are not stripping at all, with only a 6-8% SF.
Barbara AL
I will look through my old folders to see if I can find Elizabeth's Luxury Bar recipe I remember it having both shea and cocoa butter in it. Candybee
Quiet Girl's recipe is on my to do list. I just never seem to get a chance to try out new soaps and other B&B. The soaps I have already I can't make them fast enough. Its a 'good thing' as Martha would say but it can really burn you out.... wake up... make the soap... go to bed... wake up... make the soap.... day in and day out! I rarely have time for candlemaking!! LOL

I normally use just 5% superfat but thought using a slightly higher one would make the high CO/PKO soaps very doable... and mild. After all, I love, love, love salt bars!!!! And they don't make my skin itch at all. Edited November 7, 2014 by Candybee

And they don't make my skin itch at all.Salt bars are some of my favorite soaps!! The other oils I use could contribute to me not getting the stripping feeling too, and I would say 90% of my soaps are superfatted at 6%(8% for my skin - which is a touch oily is almost too much and I can break out - because I don't differenciate soaps as being a facial soap and a body soap. If I use it on my body - well, my face is part of my body - I use it there too! HA)
