barbaranj
What program are you using to design them?
Guest OldGlory
For some people it's just easier to order premade labels. Aztec in Knoxville carries some nice generic labels and they are not expensive.
ladybug1
I went online to the avery store and put in my template number and click on design and print
ladybug1
Can you put the name of your candles on the lables, like customized Aztec?
Jcandleattic
I personally wouldn't worry about labels until you are ready to sell. That most likely won't happen for quite a while. As simplistic as my labels are, it took me forever to create them and find the right brand for me and my business. But I use a print shop photo editing software to create mine. I thought about going with Online Labels, but their Kraft labels are not quite right for me, so I scrapped that. LOL

Candybee
I noticed that you posted on Jan 4 that you were new to candlemaking. So I am scratching my head wondering why you are already working on labels for your 'candles'? Edited January 10, 2015 by Candybee
ladybug1
I have been doing them since may , so to me that is new compared to others that have been doing it for years, I would like to get my ducks in a roll, so having lablels would be a plus. barbaranj
Ladybug1,Since you mentioned using Avery Design and Print, why don't you download Avery Design Pro 5. It's free and you may find it is easier to work with than Avery Design and Print.
Shoegal
I buy labels from onlinelabels and I print them in Photoshop. It does take trial and error to get them just right. I usually print everything on a plain sheet of paper, then line that up behind the labels. Put that up to the light and see if anything needs to be adjusted.Have you tried that? This way, you don't waste your labels.

Guest
If its any help, I know Staples has 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of of plain paper that has adhesive on the pack that you peel off - they call them generically : STAPLES WHITE SHIPPING LABELS. I use them at work for labeling files and such. They are inexpensive. The only thing is you would have to maybe get some kind of craft knife at Michaels or something, or be very good using scissors to cut them out nicely. They may have others colors other than white too, I don't know but you can look on their website. Candlebee: I too wanted to put lables on my candles even though I am not selling them - just to put the names of the frangrances on them & perhaps a pretty design - not on the glass containers, but on the tins just to pretty them up a bit. GermantownCandles
If you are tech savvy at all I highly recommend Photoshop.. You can tweak your designs to fit any label you want!
chuck_35550
I use Avery for all my labeling. Its an older version and it won't print some types of labels but you just have to get creative with it. You can see some of my labeling in a post about Valentines in the soap making section. I get positive comments about the professional look of my labels but mostly its about the label giving adequate information about the ingredients and a description of what to expect. I'm always put off with implausible descriptions like, "It smells like memories" Huh? Make sure you have your card stock or paper in straight. I use the back tray and use settings for quality and high definition paper. I get my label done and then take a snapshot. Hit new and bring up the label and scroll through the snapshots and hit insert. You can print up multiple fragrances on one sheet and have no waste. I use the 2x4 label with card stock and then have a cutter that trims off the excess, punch a hole in the corner and put a ribbon through it and tie around products in cello bags.
