puma52
Well, After 15 years, I have a water jacketed melter. I have wanted one of these for a long time. This thing is a wonderful workhorse. I got it from WaxMelters. My back will no longer give me fits while trying to get my 4786 wax into the small pieces to make it fit into the presto melter. This melter will melt 5 whole slabs of wax at a time as you can see in the pic. I love this melter, but I have also loved my presto melters for all the years of work they have done to help my business. The prestos will now be used for making tart melts and small pours. I am still pinching myself. Edited May 13, 2015 by puma52

puma52
Wow! So so cool! I also love the table that it's on.Hi Suzy, My husband got the table at Lowes . It was rated to hold 600 pounds and cost about $200. It was easy for my husband to put together and it is extremely stable. I was really worried about what I could set this on to have it high enough so I wouldn't have to bend over to pour, so my husband went looking. puma52
Wow, that thing is HUGE!! Boggles the mind, lol.Seriously girl....it is not as big as it looks. It measures 24" high not including legs, 19" across the top (15" opening to put the wax in and the other 4" is the 2" on each side where the water is enclosed. All I cared about was being able to put the whole slabs in.

Looks like you can get more wax in there besides 5 slabs. Thanks Candybee! Yes, it is a 100 lb melter. The difference between the 70 and the 100 was $100. So I figured why not get the bigger one and not have to fill so often? I asked the WaxMelters folks how much distilled water I needed to fill it up and they did not know...so I go to Walmart and heck I needed to buy distilled water anyhow for making soap, so I just filled the cart up. It took a little over 14 gallons to fill it up. I put a double folded piece of aluminum foil over the water inlet to keep the water from evaporating and keep bugs out. I need to put very little water in that way. I keep a jug on the table just to put a little in each time I use. It is just wonderful. I am just still pinching myself...it is wonderful to not have to mess with breaking down the slabs and waiting for it to melt in order to pour. It is such a joyful feeling. My wish would be that anyone here who wants one can have the opportunity to get one of these.

Candybee
How long does it take to melt down those 5 slabs of wax? Are you able to leave it on overnight if you want? Does it have a digital timer? Just wondering if you could set it to start melting so that by the time you are ready to make candles the wax is ready and heated to the correct temp. Now that would be very cool indeed!!
