pughaus
If you squint and look really closely you can see Jimmy Durante in that mushroom. It's uncanny. Edited November 29, 2018 by pughaus 1
birdcharm
Definitely! I've been thinking lately that maybe wick debris in a candle has some sort of meaning, lol ... like tea leaves, you know how some people read tea leaves? ("Tasseography - also known as tasseomancy or tassology - is a divination or fortune-telling method that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds, or wine sediments.") Last week I was trying out a Performa wick I had in a sample pack that I had never tried, I don't think I'll use them. I thought it was interesting though and snapped a photo ... nothing like the photos shared here however! Good work!
Arch Rock
First . . . RRDs - don't get me started on these fireballs, but it's probably my paraffin-based wax so I shouldn't diss them. Next, the glass hurricane you're using is like a chimney. Unless you're asking your customers to burn your candle with the glass hurricane, perhaps you could just focus on the candle jar itself. The hurricane adds another variable to the burn rate and the fewer variables the better.

I thought the picture of the other candle's mushrooming wick was real bad but this has it beat. LOL That's a friggin METEORITE. Thanks for sharing though. Garf
At the risk of repeating myself, I don't sell the candles I make. I have given a couple of them away to have someone other than myself test the ones I thought would do well. The other one displayed here took the prize for mushrooms. It beat me by a mile. I need to copy it.

Laura C
Hi @Garf, what kind of wick is that. It has 4 prongs. Or did you stick 4 wicks in it? I noticed you're in Miami, I'm in Pompano Beach.

Garf
I made this from a wick clip from a batch of votive candles from walgreens and some zinc wire core wick from Michaels.
Garf
I have made 2, 3, and 4 wick candles using the bottoms of soda cans.
