Craftcat
Does anybody know when printing a photo to embed does it matter whether you use an ink jet printer or a laser printer?
Jcandleattic
To embed into a forever candle? I use a laser. Not sure it matters, but not 100%. I would do a test and see...
Craftcat
Hi thanks for the reply......just a question I'm trying to embed it into a shell and the cane comes out and the picture stays in but the wax on the picture stays on the mold...I have tryed the bath water between 80-90 deF and my pour temp is at about 190 F but I still can't get the wax to stay on the pic ........any suggestions! also when I do just a regular candle everything works out just fine, so I have no clue what I'm doing wrong Edited January 30, 2016 by Craftcat
ChrisR
I only have ink jet and never had a problem. Oops forgot to say that I always spray my mold with a good silicone mold release and never had the wax stick to the mold. Craftcat
Hi what kind of mold do you use to make a hurricane shell with the photo embed....maybe I'm using the wrong mold
Vicky_CO
I use a standard hurricane mold tin type not the seamless aluminum. Never had an issue with wax lifting off the picture. This may be a non issue but what type of paper are you printing on?
ChrisR
I use a 4 x 6 alum. candle mold. I never liked the hurricane mold inserts.
Jcandleattic
I've used all kinds of molds for my picture candles, never used an insert, use the cheapest type of paper I can, and use a silicone spray as a mold release and I've never had a problem. Not sure with this new update if my picture hurricane tutorial is still up, but I did at one time have step by step instructions on how I make mine. If I can find it I will post a link. Still trying to figure out how to navigate this new look.
