julie
Hi,Several months ago I switched to J223. Thought I had everything working well...good scent throw, no smoking etc. Started doing some early spring cleaning & I've got black soot on my walls! Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.Julie

GingerKay
My experience is that if a candle is going to smoke/soot, how could it totally escape the jar and go straight to your walls? Check your furnace and air returns. It is more likely that is the problem than a candle with no soot on the jar.
Cetacea
Sounds like its a furnace problem. Check the filter. If its fine, get your furnace checked out by a professional. Soot on walls, carpet..etc is not from candles, its from your furnace. HTH
soapermom
I havent had this problem. I would think if its the candles, the jars as well as walls immediately where you burned them would be covered in soot.. not dispersed through house. Meridith
I don't smoke and get my furnace serviced regularily. For me, it was the candles and not my furnace. That was the first thing I looked toward when I started to notice the black soot on my walls. I think that if its on your candle jar, then it can get on your walls too. My furnace guy told me my furnace had that soot in it too. Now I make my own candles and don't have that problem.
