Soaps by SunRise
I bought 8 pounds jig of trinity oil at hobby lobby on clearance, they are by makesy, which is well known. However, I want to use my own lye, and not their solution. I am at odds as to how to calculate it. They use for 32 ounces of oils, their 50/50 lye solution pus an extra 7 ounces of water. The problem is I have no idea what percentages of each oil are in the job, is not listed anywhere, and is probably a proprietary blend, but I was guessing 33 olive, 33 coconut and maybe 34 palm? If that was the case, my guess would be 5.28 ounces of water to 2.38 ounces of lye per pounds. Anyone has any ideas on how to reverse engineer this calculation? Thank you. Soaps by SunRise
Jug, not jig, sorry. And is 4.5 ounces of extra water, not 7. I could not edit the post.
