Stella1952
Type of Soy or Soy Blend you use? NatureWax C3, V1, P1 Additives if any?Universal Soy Additive from JBN; may add 1 Tbsp. pp of beeswax; or 1 teasp. pp of coconut oil; or 5% stearic acid - depending on wax, etc. Always add UV Inhibitor, even to uncolored candles.Preferred dyes?Liquid Dyes from JBNPreferred wick (Not sizes)?CDN (Stabilo KST) trimmed to ¼" before burning and before each time the candle is burned. Pouring temp you recommend?120°–140° depending on wax What you do to prevent frosting?Temper the wax after melting & before pouring; add coconut oil; add USA; pour at cooler temps; no heatgunning; avoid certain FOs and dyes I have had problems with in the past; store finished candles in boxes in cool, dry area. What you do to prevent rough tops?Space cooling candles on raised metal wire racks; cover with large box; or cool in a warm (>150°) oven (turned off when candles go in). Do you do anything to prevent wet spots? Wash all glassware with HOT water & Parson's Sudsy Ammonia; rinse in HOT water and air dry upside down; never touch interior of jar once it has been washed. Store finished candles in boxes in cool, dry area.

Lantern Light Mama
It's been a while since I've been here! Here's what I do:Blend: Cargill C3 soy wax from GenwaxAdditives: Universal Soy Additive 1 tbsp/lb from Just By NatureDye: Diamond color chips from Pourette. 1 color chip/ lb...gives consistent coloring. Sometimes I make my own color blends, but because the chips are all the same size, the colors are always the same.Wick: All cotton square braid wicking, burns about 0.1 oz/hourPrevent Frosting: The additive from JBN made a huge difference, so now it only happens when its super cold (I live in San Diego), but when the candles warm up (if stored in garage) it all goes away, so I just chalk it up to a natural product that I can't control...no one seems to care.Prevent rough tops: Hit with a heat gun before capping any of them every time, so subsequently don't even measure pouring temperature. I melt it in my hot pot just until melts and then put it in my pouring pot and take my time.Wet Spots: You can't control the weather...even if you don't have wet spots today, you might a week from now. Hoping frosted glass will make it less evident, but again the additive made a huge difference.
