Donita
I made these recently. It WAS a beautiful pale blue. I scented it with Lilac Blossoms from Scented Bean. The FO is clear....no color. These haven't been in the light. We noticed yesterday that the candle is turning tan. The top is worse but you can see it developing through out the entire candle. I used a sample bottle and only made two candles with it. Does anyone have a clue? Donita
CranberryGirl
My best guess would be the scent...If not exposed to the light.. that is all i can think of..The only problems with Fo's is they are Chemicals..And they all react different! Nothing else got into Your batch of wax???...Sorry I could not help..My best guess is a reaction to the fo's.
Dustpuuppy
I've had it happen, not sure what caused it. I always blamed it on the FO. You seem to have eliminated that, though.
chickadee
It's probably the fo. BCN's blueberry muffins will do that if you don't use the right dye. It pours blue then changes color over the next day even if not exposed to light. I had to get the blue chips to get it to stay blue.Brandi
Donita
Thanks Chickadee....I think that because I used just a little blue from a block and not a regular light blue chip might have made the difference. I just won't buy the lilac. It hasn't happened on any other blue candles. I have used BCN Lilac and had no problem. Donita
tucker
I think it is probably just part of the learning process. When you've been making candles as long as me, you'll figure all this stuff out. I really am sorry that you have to learn all these little tricks the hard way, but once you get the hang of it I'm sure you'll enjoy making the odd candle. (smile).... actually smile is no good, it should be ROFLMAO
tucker
Donita, forgive me, I just had to throw one in.
sharyl55
Cliff, you forgot 'And that's why you should buy samples and test.' LMAO You are so bad. Haven't tried anybodies lilac so don't know what that FO will do. I'm guessing the candle gremlins got into the workshop.
Carrie
Every candle I've made with a certain suppliers blue liquid dye has turned an ugly greyish tan color. I haven't tried using UV yet, but right now I am staying away from using this blue dye.
Donita
I have been told to check out the new additive at BCN. Sounds very interesting. Donita
