The_Dallas_Texas_Dean
Why a CD 8 would smoke/soot when a CD 10 does not when they are used in the same application?30% Soy 70% Paraffin Very Sexy Her from ICS 1.5oz per LBI thought the larger the wick, the more apt it is to smoke especially in a 8oz tumbler as small as the diameter is ( 2.5 inches)
bugtussle
I'm not sure there is an answer. I have used cd wicks for 4 years and think they're great, but I have run into the same thing. Maybe the 8 is just not big enough to completely burn the wax mixture and the smoke is the result of an incomplete burn. Post if you figure it out! Candlewitch
Why does a 4 cly car engine burn more oil then a 6 cyl in the same car? Its working too hard is the answer I would think...

Sara
Because the CD 8 is "working harder" than the 10 is. Weird thing, but that's what I was told way back when.

Cetacea
smoke/soot combo is indicative of too small of a wick. The wax mixture is too rich for combustion to be complete, ceteris paribus of course...LOL.
