Shirelle407
Hi I'm new to the board, and i have been a closet bath salt and soap maker for years. I starting selling salts publically and they have taken off. I need help. I am looking for a company where i can get bulk bath salts really cheap. I add all the oils and other items myself. If anyone can help me my appreciation would be endless. Thanks and God BlessDomonique
Bunny
I get my salts at www.thesage.com is that bulk enough, or are you needing even bigger?Look way down on the bottom of the additives page after going to their catalog. And welcome to the boards!
idahospud
If you have a local health food store, you might check there. I buy mine in bulk there.
daniedb
www.saltworks.us has good prices on 50 pounds and up, lots of salt, but good pricing!
RobinInOR
I use saltworks too, good product and service.
mountainmadness
I contacted one of my suppliers that sold bath salts when I used to carry them. I always wanted a good shipping quote because that is a big issue for me with where I live.... The supplier informed me that the salt that you would purchase for your water softener in the blue bag is the same kind of salt that they sell. It has to be the one in the blue bag because it is pure salt with no rust agents or anything. You can find this at a local hardware store or at Sam's Club. A 50# bag is about $6.00.HTH. idahospud
This is the salt I have used, when I can find it.

Carrie
I got that bag at Costco a few months ago for about $3-$4 for 50 pounds.

TerriWV
This is the salt I have used, when I can find it.Lowe's has this for $4.59/40#
lindsaycb
But what kind of salt is that really? Would you add in then dead sea salts, etc? What's the inci name for that stuff.I need to make some shelf fillers & bulk bath salts would work soooo well!
candelecandlecompany
I've never used this salt you picture but I do have a question. Is it in crystal form or is it really soft?
RobinInOR
the proper inci for all the salts is sodium chloride. any of the minerals or extra goodies in the salt are probably incidental and not even mentioned. But everyone puts on their label what kind of salt they use, cuz what's the fun of "sodium chloride"....
lindsaycb
So really water softener salt, doesn't have any label appeal other than being bath salt.If I add others...then we're good..
Sherie
I believe that's the salt I use for my pool. It comes in nickel sized balls. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Tammie
I have always been kind of curious about the salts. Do you just add some glycerine, coloring and fo???? Sounds like a great mark up product.
lindsaycb
I'd like to bump this one up....I bought the blue bag...but I'm wondering if I should be throwing them in the food process for just a little bit. Are is this size not a problem? They're just little nuggets.
idahospud
I think it all depends on what look you are for. You can chop them up in the food processor, or leave them chunky. I mix them with all sorts of other salts too.
Beth-VT
Those Morton salts are also sold at Wal-Mart. Our carries them around the paint dept.
lindsaycb
I picked up a bag at Menard's and have been chopping them up...but I think I'd rather just mix them with some other salts, etc.
