ladysj
What is the easiest and best way to dry these before packaging them?
jenniejr
I'm confused......... I make bath salts all the time and they never need to dry. How wet is "wet"?
ladysj
They aren't real wet. Just wanted to make sure they were drier before packaging so they hopefully won't clump. I added some grapeseed oil for moisturizing.
jenniejr
Usually you would add glycerin or Vit. E for the moisture. Grapeseed is nice, but it doesn't have a very long "shelf life". It can go rancid fairly quick. If you added too much oil, they will not dry out. The oil is not like water ..... it doesn't just evaporate. If they are damp, I would suggest adding a little more salts and possibly some Natrasorb to help dry them out a little.
Gene
fumed silica will prevent clumping
Carrie
I tried to find the post at the Soap Dish where they talk about the woman that got stuck to the bottom of the tub from using bath salts that had oils added. It seems that when they were put in the water it became like super glue and she couldn't get out.I seriously suck at searching the Dish, can someone find a link to that article? ladysj
Thanks for all the help. They have turned out wonderful. As for the oil part I only put about 1 tablespoon to 3 pounds of salts.
