KJohnson Posted April 9, 2006 Share Posted April 9, 2006 can anyone tell me what the INS # means? and where should I keep it when making a recipe?when I make a recipe using olive oil its like 155..but then when I us the same recipe but plug in RBO it drops lots to 140. Experience has proven a range of 145 - 165 will gennerally be acceptable. Closely related to Hardness and Iodine values. Found this here. SOOZI love this page. MaryinCary Posted April 9, 2006 Share Posted April 9, 2006 I've been told by a couple of experienced soaper's here to pay more attention to the Iodine level....between 60 & 70 is considered good. Now I'm sure there are differing opinions...but so far this has worked very well for me. The sooz is a great place to spend a day....or 2!
