classylady71118
I bought 2 lbs of shea butter as part of a co-op and it's not a solid butter consistancy but more a creamy consistancy. Has ANYONE ever run into this kind of shea butter? I bought it to use for my bath bombs but I had to buy shea butter from my usual supplier because when my finished bath bomb went in the tub it left a gooey mess in the tub. I also tried to use it in a whipped shea recipe and that also was a disaster??? So now I'm afraid to use it for anything. And of course after my first experience I emailed the person whom hosted the co-op and NEVER got a reply! That was my one and only experience with a co-op buy.... comments anyone?Beverly
Grannyscandles
I have gotten it when it was more of a creamy consistency. It worked fine in CP.
erikatx
yes, I've bought some in a coop as well that was creamy and I used it once, made a body butter and itnever seemed to harden up, it was liquidy. So I have learned to only buy from one supplier (certain co-ops).
TexasBrat
I have bought from several different sources for shea and it is always mushy to me.
Carrie
I only use Agbanga Karite Unrefined shea butter. It is consistantly a good quality. I don't recognize your name so I hope it wasn't my shea coop you bought from. If it was please pm me.
eugenia
I've gotten shea from many places and it's creamy, more like margarine. You can scoop it for sure. Cocoa butter, on the other hand, is always hard and crumbly.
SANDY
My guess is going to be that it came from Oils by nature..... that seems to be the most commonly co-op butter and oil supplier.. Or maybe columbus foods....
angied
I have gotten some shea from Oils by Nature and that is how it is, but I really havent had any problems with it but I also usually use cocoa butter or something hard with it as well so maybe that makes a difference:confused: .
